DATA REPRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS

• Represent the data that you have collected in graphical form 

  • Simple Line/Bar graph 

  • Comparative line/bar graph

• Describe the trends and patterns observed from the graphs

When drawing a graph, it should include: Title, labelling of axes and legend

reliability and validity of the investigation * how to improve

Reliability- consistency of the results

• Take 2–3 readings at each site and calculate the average

• Take measurements at the same time for all sites

• Standardise equipment and procedures

Validity - data collection method is accurate, appropriate and able to answer the investigation question

•  Collect data on both weekdays and weekends

• Measure temperature at regular intervals throughout the day (e.g. morning, afternoon and evening)

• Choose sites that are similar except for one factor (e.g. green vs non-green)
