NATIONAL INTEGRATED BASIC RESEARCH AGENDA (NIBRA)

• Studying natural resources (e.g., sea sponges) for potential medical treatments (e.g., cancer).

• LIKAS AGENDA (FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH IN HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT)

BIOPROSPECTING

• Mapping genetic responses to drugs (e.g., tuberculosis drug in Filipinos).

PHARMACOGENOMICS & TOXICOGENOMICS

• Investigating unclassified viruses from animals (e.g., bats) that can infect humans, or strange illnesses in livestock infecting farmers.
