An interface for old hard drives and optical drives which is no longer widely used in modern PCs.
CMOS Battery
A small coin cell battery installed on the motherboard that preserves BIOS settings and the system clock.
Southbridge
A chipset component that manages slower devices such as USB, SATA, audio, and Ethernet.
SATA Port (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment)
A modern connection for HDDs, SSDs, and optical drives that offers faster data transfer than IDE.
Fan Headers
Power sources on the motherboard for CPU and case fans to prevent system overheating.
RAM Slots (DDR)
Slots where memory modules are installed; DDR RAM provides faster system performance.
ATX 24-pin Connector
The main motherboard power connector that delivers electricity from the PSU to all components.
DDR (Double Data Rate)
A type of memory that transfers data twice per clock cycle to provide faster memory performance.
AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port)
An old hardware slot used specifically for video cards and 3D graphics acceleration.
VGA (Video Graphics Array)
A 15-pin analog connector used for transmitting video signals to monitors.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)
A modern digital connector for high-definition audio and video used with monitors, TVs, and projectors.
SATA Cables
Wires used to connect modern storage devices such as HDDs, SSDs, and optical drives.
