Bunsen burner
lab equipment which produces a single open gas flame, which is used for heating, sterilization, and combustion.

Ring stand
Used in many lab activities as the support for another apparatus

pipestem "clay" triangle
Can be placed on an iron ring to provide a stage for a crucible

utility clamp
May be attached to a ring stand and be made to hold a test tube or thermometer

Iron ring
Often attached to a ring stand to use as support for a beaker

evaporating dish
Device used to evaporate solids and supersaturated liquids

mortar and pestle
tool used to crush, grind, and mix solid substances

test tubes
used for many activities which requires multiple reagents or solutions

Beaker
probably the most common vessel for holding liquids in the lab

crucible and cover
container which can withstand high temperatures and is used for metal, glass, and pigment production

wire gauze
Often placed on iron ring to provide a "stage" for a beaker

safety goggles
must be worn for lab activities to protect the eyes

corks
used to contain liquids in test tubes and flasks

watch glass
used as a surface to evaporate a liquid, or to hold solids while being weighed, or as a cover for a beaker

Erlenmeyer flask
May be used to hold liquids instead of beakers, when a smaller opening is preferred

tongs
used to handle hot beakers and other glassware

rubber stoppers
Used to contain liquids in test tubes and flasks

Test tube holder
Used to pick up and hold test tubes, often while heating

Micropipets/Dropper
Used to transport a measured volume of liquid

Forceps
handheld, hinged instrument used for grasping and holding small objects

file
metalworking and woodworking tool used to cut fine amounts of material from a workpiece.

wire brush
an abrasive instrument, used for cleaning rust and removing paint. Often used to clean test tubes

wash bottle
a squeeze bottle with a nozzle, used to rinse various pieces of lab glassware, such as test tubes and round bottom flasks.

graduated cylinder
used to measure volume of liquids

thermometer
used to measure temperature

pipet
Also called a pipettor is used to transport a measured volume of liquid

buret
used to dispense a known amount of a liquid reagent in experiments for which such precision is necessary, such as a titration experiment.

well plate
flat plate with multiple "wells" used as small test tubes

scoopula & spatula
spatula is used to take out and transfer small quantities of solids. A scoopula is used to take out and transfer larger quantities of solids. Serves as a spoon.

funnel
may be placed in an iron ring or on top of a buret. Used for filtration or the delivery of liquids.
