Analysis Phase
The second phase of the Nursing Process, focused on identifying how a person, group, or community responds to health processes and identifying factors contributing to health problems.
Etiology
Factors that contribute to or cause health problems.
Diagnostic Clinical Reasoning
The process of identifying actual and potential health problems and the willingness to ask for help when needed.
Nursing Diagnosis
A clinical judgment about individual, family, or community responses to actual or potential health problems, guiding nursing interventions.
Medical Diagnosis
Identification of diseases or physiological and psychological problems validated by medical studies.
ABCS Approach
An approach for prioritizing nursing tasks, focusing on Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
A psychological theory that prioritizes human needs, suggesting that physiological needs should be addressed first.
Problem Statement
A clear, concise statement indicating what is unhealthy about the patient, leading to an appropriate nursing diagnosis.
