Half-life
The period of time required for half of the molecules in a sample to degrade.
mRNA (messenger RNA)
A type of RNA that carries genetic information from DNA to the ribosome for protein synthesis.
tRNA (transfer RNA)
A type of RNA that transports amino acids to the ribosome during protein synthesis.
Proteins
Biomolecules composed of amino acids that perform various functions in organisms, including catalyzing metabolic reactions.
Eukaryotic cells
Cells that have a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles, found in animals, plants, and fungi.
Regulation of gene expression
The process by which cells control the timing and amount of gene expression.
DNA
Deoxyribonucleic acid, the molecule that carries the genetic instructions for life.
