purpose of practical

making a pure crystal of a soluble salt

method step 1

pour sulfuric acid into a beaker and heat gently on a bunsen burner so it is a limited reactant

method step 2

add copper carbonate until it is in excess

method step 3

use filtration paper in a funnel to filter out the insoluble solution into a beaker

method step 4

then evaporate half the mixture in an evaporation basin to half on a bunsen burner

method step 5

leave for 24 hours so it can form crystals then dap with a paper towel
