What is Indigenous Media?
Information that belongs to an ethnic tribe that has preserved and practiced the culture and tradition of ancestry, often through oral tradition.
How are books in a library generally characterized?
Books are considered highly reliable, accurate, and valuable sources of information.
What is a Specialized Library?
A library located inside private institutions or schools that contains one specialization category or field.
What is the definition of Print Media?
Print publications that are physically presented on paper.
What does Broadcast Media consist of?
Programs produced by television, radio, and films.
What is New Media?
Media that utilizes the internet to access and communicate information, such as webpages, e-books, instant messaging, online shopping, and distance learning.
What is Media Convergence?
The co-existence of print media, broadcast media, and the internet, allowing media content to flow across various platforms.
What does the acronym RAVAT stand for in information evaluation?
Reliability, Accuracy, Value, and Authority.
How is Reliability evaluated in the RAVAT framework?
By checking if there are references or external sources and if the websites are well-managed or updated.
What factors determine the Accuracy of information?
Whether it is free from errors, grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes, and bias.
What is the focus of evaluating Value in information?
Determining if there is a target audience and if they would find the information valuable.
How is Authority assessed in information sources?
By looking at the legitimacy of the organization and the qualifications of the author.
What is Media Language?
The codes, conventions, formats, symbols, and narrative structures that indicate the meaning of media messages to an audience.
What are Conventions in the context of media?
The standards, norms, or generally accepted ways of doing things.
What is the definition of Codes in media content?
A formula for content presentation used so frequently that it becomes cliche, as well as symbols for interpretation.
What do Technical Codes include?
Sound, camera angles, type of shot, lighting, and silence.
What are Symbolic Codes?
Language, dress, actions of characters, or iconic symbols that are easily understood.
What are Written Codes?
The use of textual layout and language style specifically in printed material.
