Select different power settings and enrichen the mixture to determine if continued ops on both is practical
If not switch to good magneto and divert nearest airport

Spark plug fouling
On ground
Mags: both
rpm 2000,
Lean for 2 mins
Mags check again

Over-voltage light illuminates
master off (both sides)
Master switch on
Over voltage light off
If over voltage light illuminates again:
Flight terminate as soon as practical
Verify with checklist/poh
Ammeter shows discharge
Alternator off (left master)
Non essential electrical equipment off
Terminate as soon as possible
Verify with checklist/poh

P - Power Idle
A - Ailerons neutral
R - Rudder full opposite of direction of spin
E - Elevator briskly forward
Neutralize rudder

Touchdown good tire first (hold airplane off flat tire as long as possible with aileron control)
Door open in flight
Control the aircraft
Attempt to c’ose door if practical
To close door:
Reduce airspeed 75mph / 65 kts
Momentarily shove the door outwards
Forcefully close the door
Lock the door
Ditching
Verify checklist/poh procedure

Inadverten icing encounter

Steady green light while in flight
Cleared to land
Flashing green light while in flight
Return for landing (will be shortly followed by steady green light)
steady red light while in flight
Do not land/give way or overshoot
Flashing red while in flight
Airport unsafe do not land
Steady green while on ground
Cleared to take off
Flashing green lights while on ground
Clear to taxi
Steady red while on ground
Stop
Flashing red while on ground
Clear landing area in use
Flashing white on ground
Return to starting point
Blinking runway lights on ground
Vehicule and pedestrian vacate runway immediately
Vacuum system failure
Confirm suction is low/reducing at different rpm settings (low rpm low suction, cruise 4-6 inches, high rpm 6 inches)
Proceed to partial panel (try to cover attitude indicator and gyro heading indicator)
Terminate flight as soon as practical
Brake failure or seizure
Request longer runway
Use full back elevator for aerodynamic braking
Flap failure stuck cannot go down
Terminate flight as soon as practical
Land no flap configuration (80mph 172M)
Flap failure cannot go up
if terrain and conditions do not permit do emergency landing
If terrain and condition perform climb at vx away from rising terrain (watch out to not exceed Vfe)
Reach altitude which would allow landing at closest aerodrome
Cruise appropriate speed (below Vfe)
Contact appropriate frequency
Emergency descent
