What determines protein expression?

Difference in mRNA. Different cells in the body have the same DNA but express genes differently to end up different protein due to mRNA

Constitutive expression

gene is expressed at all times

Inducible expression 

gene expression is off until actively turned on

Repressible expression 

gene expression is on until actively turned off
