Distribution Channel
Institutions that transfer the ownership of goods and move them from the point of production to the point of consumption.
Supply Chain Management
A set of approaches and techniques to integrate suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics into a seamless value chain.
Logistics Management
The integration of activities to plan, implement, and control the efficient flow of goods from origin to point of consumption.
Channel Conflict
Occurs when channel members disagree about their goals, roles, or rewards.
Vertical Marketing System
A distribution system in which the primary members, such as manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, work together as a unified group.
Direct Distribution
A distribution strategy in which products are sold directly from the manufacturer to the consumer.
Indirect Distribution
A distribution strategy that involves one or more intermediaries between the manufacturer and the consumer.

An approach where the manufacturer is responsible for maintaining the retailer's inventory levels in stores.
