Internal Female Genital Organs
A group of organs comprising the ovary, uterine tube, uterus, and vagina.
External Female Genital Organs
A group of structures comprising the labia majora, labia minora, and clitoris.
Uterine tube
An internal female organ also known as the Fallopian tube.
Cervix
The lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina.
Mons pubis
The rounded mass of fatty tissue lying over the joint of the pubic bones, part of the female external genitalia.
Prepuce
A fold of skin surrounding the clitoris.
Hymen
A membrane that partially closes the vaginal opening.
Perineum
The area of skin between the vaginal opening and the anus.
Internal Male Genital Organs
Specific organs include the vas deferens, seminal vesicle glands, ejaculatory ducts, prostate gland, and bulbourethral glands.
External Male Genital Organs
Specific organs include the testes, epididymis, and penis.
Vas deferens
An internal male organ also referred to as the ductus deferens or deferent duct.
Epididymis
An external male organ consisting of three parts: the head, body, and tail.
Seminiferous tubule
Tubular structures located within the testis.
Seminal vesicle glands
Glands belonging to the internal male genital organs that contribute to semen production.
Prostate gland
A male gland located surrounding the neck of the bladder.
Bulbourethral glands
Small glands identified in the notes as bulbourethral glands or "Bulbo ureathrea."
Scrotum
The external anatomical pouch that contains the testis.
Glans penis
The sensitive bulbous structure at the distal end of the penis.
Efferent ductules
Ducts that lead from the testis to the head of the epididymis.
Inguinal canal
A passage in the anterior abdominal wall that conveys the spermatic cord in males.
