Holy Spirit
Comes down on Mary and the Apostles on the 50th day following Easter.
Work of Salvation
Accomplished by Jesus through his Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension.
Synod
A group of bishops from around the world who gather with the Pope in Rome.
Eucharist
Comes from the Greek word for 'thanksgiving'; celebration of the entire Mass with consecrated bread and wine (Body and Blood).
Charism
A special gift or grace of the Holy Spirit given to an individual or community for the benefit of others.
Miracle
Events in history in which God clearly reveals his presence and saving power.
Covenant
A solemn agreement between humans or between God and humans.
Sacrament of Holy Orders
The sacrament through which those are ordained as bishops, priests, or deacons.
Culture
The shared values, beliefs, and practices of a group of people, which influences the ways in which the Gospel is understood and practiced.
Canonization
The action by which the Church officially recognizes a deceased Catholic as a saint.
Heaven
The ultimate destiny of those who die in God's grace and friendship.
