Spirit of Adoption
The belief that we are adopted into God's family through the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God.
Theological Virtues
Faith, Hope, and Charity; infused by God to enable us to live as His children.
Faith
God's gift that allows you to believe in Him and trust completely in His teachings.
Hope
The desire and confidence in the good things God has prepared for you, including eternal life.
Charity (Love)
The virtue that enables you to love God above all and your neighbor as yourself.
Cardinal Virtues
Moral virtues that can be achieved through human effort, essential for making good moral decisions.
Prudence
The virtue that helps you decide what is good and enables careful decision-making.
Justice
The virtue that respects others' rights and gives everyone their due.
Fortitude
Courage to do what is right and resist temptations, even in difficult situations.
Temperance
The virtue that moderates desires for enjoyment and fosters self-control.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Gifts received at baptism that help live a virtuous life and strengthen in Confirmation.
Wisdom
Enables you to see life from God's perspective and recognize true values.
Understanding
Grows through prayer and helps comprehend the truths of faith.
Right Judgment (Counsel)
The ability to seek and give advice, aiding in making moral decisions.
Courage (Fortitude)
Strength to stand firm in beliefs and act as a follower of Jesus.
Reverence (Piety)
The gift that fosters love and worship of God and respect for relationships.
Knowledge
Helps understand what God asks of you and the value of your experiences.
Wonder and Awe (Fear of the Lord)
Recognizes God's greatness, fostering dependence on Him and marveling at His love.
