Mars

I fathered Romulus and Remus by impregnating Rhea Silvia. I am essentially the patron god and eponymous hero of Rome.

Ascanius

I was the son of Aeneas and Creusa. My nickname was Iulus.

Amulius

I (a descendant of Aeneas) took power from my older brother Numitor, king of Alba Long. I was the uncle of Rhea Silvia who forced her to become a Vestal Virgin. I was king of Alba Longa who ordered the death of his infant, twin grandnephews Romulus, the eventual founder and king of Rome, and Remus. He was deposed and killed by them after they survived and grew to adulthood.

Numitor

I (a descendant of Aeneas) was rightful king of Alba Longa and father of Rhea Silvia. My brother was Amulius.

Anchises

I was the father of Aeneas and the grandfather of Ascanius. I was also very lucky to have shared an intimate moment with Venus.

Rhea Silvia

I was "visited" by Mars and gave birth to Romulus and Remus.

Latium

This was the central region of Italy in which Rome was located and the eponymous origin of the Latin language.

Aeneas

I am the founder of the Roman race and was from Troy.

Venus

I was the mother of Aeneas and lover of Anchises.

Tiber river

This is the river into which Romulus and Remus were tossed and also runs north-south through Rome.

Romulus

I am the eponymous founder of Rome and her first kind. I killed my brother Remus.

Iulus

I'm known as Ascanius, son of Arneas and Creasa. But, I'm also known by this name. This name will later be a very powerful symbol for the Julian clan.

Creusa

I was Aeneas wife back at Troy and the mother of Ascanius.

I was the twin brother of Romulus. Romulus was a jerk!

I was one of the most influential poets during the age of Augustus. I wrote about Aeneas and the the founding of the Roman race in the Aeneid.

The Sabines

Neighbors of Rome; in Roman mythology in which the men of Rome committed a mass abduction of young women from the other cities in the region. It has been a frequent subject of painters and sculptors, particularly during the Renaissance and post-Renaissance eras.

In mythology, I escaped my wicked brother from Phoenicia and fled to North Africa. I was the first queen and founder of Carthage. I had an unhappy love affair with Aeneas. He broke my heart when he left me. I loved him so much. I am now in the Underworld because I committed suicide.

Carthage

These infamous wars happened between Rome and Carthage, which was located in north Africa. These three wars occured between 250-150 BCE.

Latinus

I allied myself with Aeneas when he arrived in Italy and married my daughter, Livia, to him in order to strengthen the alliance. This pissed off Turnus. "Latinus, in Roman legend, king of the aborigines in Latium and eponymous hero of the Latin race."

Livy

I wrote the historical work, Ab Urbe Condita (from the city having been founded). Also, I wrote in the age of Augustus. I am considered to be an invaluable primary resource for early Roman history.

This was an epic poem written by Vergil during the age of Augustus. It defined the major values of what it meant to be Roman. Rome was founded upon courage, honor, and sacrifice
