skeletal : connect to bone that allows us to move body

cardiac : found in heart to keep heart pumping

smooth : found in organs

which muscle tissue(s) do we have small control over?

skeletal muscle

which muscle tissue(s) do we not have control over?

cardiac and smooth muscle

describe the characteristics / regeneration of skeletal muscle tissue

cells do not divide

dependent on stem cells within tissues (myosatellite), but if the muscle cell dies, it is unlikely to come back

multinucleated (more DNA > more proteins)

long, thin cells (muscle fibers)

striated voluntary muscle (striped look because all contractile proteins oriented linear > pull muscle same direction when contracted)

actually involuntary (back muscle)

axons (nerve fiber) : long, thin extension; carries outgoing electrical signal to destination

can nervous tissue regenerate?

it can regenerate (not explained why)
