What is Sampling

1. process selecting samples from population

Sampling Techniques

1. probability sampling: guna bila ada sampling frame(info population)

• simple random: Every member has an equal chance of selection.

• systematic: Select every nth member after a starting point. [keyword: every]

• stratified: Divide population into groups —> srs from each group [keyword: each]

• cluster: Divide population into clusters and randomly select whole clusters. [keyword: all]

2. Non-probability sampling

• convenience: select people who are easy/available

• judgemental: selected by researcher’s judgement

• snowball: respondents recommended by other respondents

• quota: selected based on certain characteristics

Data Collection Method

2. telephone interview : disadvantages respond rates low

3. direct questionnaire : disadvantages need to find respondents

4. direct observation

5. other method : mailed questionnaire/email/video recording/IT devices
