Ethnocentrism
The belief that one's own culture or group is superior to others.

Principles that help ensure speakers communicate truthfully and responsibly.
Types of plagiarism
Global (stealing an entire speech), patchwork (copying from multiple sources), incremental (failing to give credit for small parts).
Difference between listening and hearing
Listening is a psychological process of making sense of sounds; hearing is the physiological act of perceiving sounds.
Key word outline
An outline using key words or phrases to guide a speaker's presentation without reading verbatim.
Chronological order
An organizational pattern in speech that arranges information based on time sequence.
Topical order
An organizational pattern that divides a speech into subtopics or categories.
Fixed alternative question
A type of question that presents specific options for respondents to choose from.
Goodwill in communication
The positive relationship and favorable impression a speaker establishes with an audience.
Dissolve ending
A type of concluding statement that gradually fades out the key points or themes of the speech.
