Origin – Comes from the Greek myth of Tantalus, a king who was punished by the gods for his evil deeds. The punishment was that they put him in a pool of water and every time he bent down to take a drink the water would drain. There was also a tree above his head that every time he went to pick apples from the tree, the apples would be taken away
