centre of mass
the point in which a body is balanced in all directions and where weight will act from
stability
the ability of a body to resist motion and remain at rest
4 things that affect stability
mass of the body- the greater the mass the greater the inertia causing a greater stability
height of centre of mass- the lower the centre of mass the greater the stability
the size of the base of support- the greater the size of the base of support the greater the stability
the line of gravity- if the line of gravity is in the middle the greater the stability
as the high jump technique changed the centre of mass goes below the bar meaning less force is needed to achieve the same height.
