what are needs for glucose in photosynthesis?
1) storage for starch (glucose is insoluble and doesn’t affect osmosis)

2)aerobic/anaerobic respiration

3)glucose absorbs nitrates in soul to make amino acids

4) converted to lipids used in cell membranes

5)makes cellulose for cell walls
2
New cards
what is the written formula for photosynthesis?
carbon dioxide + water →(light energy)→ oxygen + glucose + ATP
3
New cards
what is oxygen debt?
oxygen debt is the amount of extra oxygen the body needs after exercise to react with the accumulated lactic acid and remove it from cells.
4
New cards
how is lactic acid removed from cells?
blood flowing through the muscles transports the lactic acid to the liver where it is converted back into glucose.
5
New cards
what is the body’s response to excersise?
the heart rate, breathing rate and breath volume increase during exercise to supply the muscles with more oxygenated blood.
6
New cards
what is the formula of aerobic respiration?
C6 H12 O6 + 6O2->6CO2 +6H2O+ATP

or glucose + oxygen-> carbon dioxide + water +ATP
7
New cards
what is the formula of anaerobic respiration using fermentation?
\
glucose-> ethanol and carbon dioxide and ATP
8
New cards
what is the formula for anaerobic respiration in animals?
glucose→ lactic acid and ATP
9
New cards
what are factors that affect the rate of photosynthes?
amount of carbon dioxide

light intensity and

temperature

New cards
what does metabolism include?
1)conversion of glucose to starch, glycogen and cellulose

2)the use of glucose and nitrate ions to form amino acids which in turn are used to synthesise proteins

3)respiration

4) formation of lipid molecules

5) break down of excess proteins to form urea
11
New cards
what is metabolism?
the process of synthesising molecules in the body using enzymes
