Colour
Used to symbolize different things. Eg white may symbolize purity.

Vectors
A reading path that leads your eye through an image

Salience
The element or elements in an image that stand out and attract the viewers' attention

Framing
The way a subject is placed in relation to other objects in the image

Body language
The way the subject is positioned, e.g., the body language may be happy, or aggressive.

Facial expression
The facial expressions of the subject, these closely link to body language e.g., Facial expression may be happy or sad.

Gaze
The direction the subject is looking, it may be to another object (offer), or straight at the viewer (demand.)

Font
The style of writing in the image and how it is displayed e.g., it may be bold and big to attract the viewers attention, or it may curve around an object represent grace and style

Size
The size of the subject or object can reflect its importance or insignificance.

Layout/ positioning
Where an object or subject is placed within an image

Symbolism
An image/ icon that represents a bigger idea

Juxtaposition
Placing two things side by side to reveal strong similarities or differences

Background
The area behind the subject can offer context, or focus attention
