Core

central region- nuclear fusion, hydrogen atoms join together to form helium, inner most

Radiation Zone

area with tightly packed gasses, transfers energy, slow moving

Convection Zone

outermost layer of the sun's interior, rising and falling currents, like boiling water

Photosphere

inner layer of the sun's atmosphere (what you see).

middle layer (the glow).

Chromo=color, turbulent layer, UV light,

prominences and solar flares start here

Corona

outer layer around the sun.

Corona=crown, seen only at solar eclipe,

much hotter than the surface

Sunspots

dark spots on the sun that are cooler than the gasses around them

Prominences

loops of reddish gas that stick out

Solar flares

eruptions of gas that spew enormous amounts of energy into space, can cause solar wind
