How to Change Layer Color in Adobe Illustrator

Double click on the layer (not the name) you want to change and the Layer Options dialog box will open, then click on the color options to change the layer color.

Open the Brush panel (Window > Brush), select the new brush icon, select the type of brush you would like to make, make the desired adjustments and hit okay.

How do you create guides?

Choose View > Show Rulers. Position the pointer on the left ruler for a vertical guide or on the top ruler for a horizontal guide, drag the guide into position. To convert vector objects to guides, select them and choose View > Guides > Make Guides.

How do you change Blend Mode and Opacity?

Select the object, then go to the appearance section of the properties panel and click on the word opacity. In this dialog box click the drop down box to the left of the word opacity and then select the desired BLENDING MODE. TO change the opacity adjust the percentage in the box to the right of the word opacity to the desired number.

Select the Type on a Path tool, move cursor to the path and click when you see the word PATH. Type your desired text and modify it in the character section of the properties panel

Open the Gradient panel (Window-> Gradient). Double click to change color, Adjust the opacity and location of selected color stop, Delete a color stop.

How do you adjust the Bleed of a document?

Go to the File menu and select Document Setup. Then adjust the bleed to the desired measurement in the Document Setup dialog box.

Go to the layer panel, then in the upper right corner select the layer options icon. From the list select flatten artwork. Rename the new layer as desired.

How do you adjust Artboard orientation and adjustments?

Open the artboard panel, then select the artboard options icon. In the artboard options dialog box make the needed changes to Name, Size, and Orientation.

How do you adjust the angle of an object and color fill?

Select the object with the selection tool, then in the properties panel go to the transform section and adjust the angle to the desired degree. To change the color go to the appearance section of the properties panel and adjust the fill and stroke to the desired colors.

How do you create a new swatch?

Open the swatches panel and select the new swatches icon. From there ensure the color mode is correct and enter the desired numbers.

How do you create a Text Wrap?

Select both the object to be wrapped and the text. Go to the object menu and select Text Wrap, then select Text Wrap Options, and adjust the options to match the question. Go back to the object menu, select Text Wrap, and then select Make.

How do you convert text to an outline and modify it?

Select the text that needs to be modified. Go to the Type menu, select Create Outlines. Double click on the individual letter to be modified and make the desired changes.
