Back in the 1800s, people used carrier pigeons and letters carried by sea to communicate with each other. This was inconvenient as letters took a few months to arrive or even get lost at sea. However, in the 2000s, with rapid developing technology, we have mobile phones with a range of functions that allows us to communicate with others across different time zones efficiently and reliably.

Examples of Technological Advancements in Transportation.

Back in the 1800s, a conventional train would usually take 6 hours and 40 minutes to travel from Tokyo to Osaka. However, in the 2000s with the invention of Shinkansen Train Network, it allowed for the timing to be shortened to 3 hours and 10 minutes from Tokyo to Osaka.(SPEED)

Back in the 1800s, steam-powered boats were used to transport goods and people. However, because of its large engine and fuel that it has to carry for long trips, it is not able to transport many things at once. However, in the 1950s, with the invention of container ships which can carry up to 600 000 tons depending on its size, it allows for more goods to be transported at once. (CAPACITY & COSTS.)

Back in the 1960s, going on airplanes and taking flights were considered a luxury that only business travelers could afford. However, with the emergence of budget airlines with airplanes that are fuel-efficient and going to airports with cheaper air fares allows for flights to accessible to everyone. (COSTS)
