They were explorers, set out to explore the west (Spring 1806). The hope was to find a waterway from the Mississippi to the Pacific Ocean. They also learned about the animals, plants, geographical features and people.

June 1812, Congress declared war on England and British attacked by using the technique blockade to prevent trade. America decided to invade Canada which didn’t work.
