Impact

The status of a species in terms of its survival risks.

Conservation Status

The natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism.

Habitat

The state of a species when it no longer exists.

Extinction

The action of reducing the severity, seriousness, or painfulness of something.

Mitigation

A substance that pollutes something, especially water or the atmosphere.

Pollutant

Black powder produced by the incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons.

Soot

Long-term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in a place.

Climate Change

Referring to the ability of certain gases to hold heat in the atmosphere.

Heat-Trapping

Natural fuels formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals.

Fossil Fuel

Actions and behaviors of people that affect the environment.
