Sound waves begin as?
Analogue
What is A2D?
Analogue to Digital Conversion
Describe the A2D
You measure the amplitude of the analogue wave at a given point in time, these are called samples.
These samples can then generate a value that can be represented in binary and stored.
Using these samples the computer is able to store a digital version of the analogue wave
It is then stored on secondary storage and can be played back at any time by reversing the process.
What is sample rate(Hz)?
Sample rate is the amount of samples taken per second of the analogue wave.
What is sample resolution?
Sample resolution is the number of bits stored per sample of sound
