Antibodies
Proteins produced by the immune system to identify and neutralize foreign objects like bacteria and viruses.
Polyclonal Antibodies
A mixture of antibodies produced from many different B cell lineages in response to an antigen.
Monoclonal Antibodies
Antibodies derived from a single B-cell clone and designed to bind to a specific epitope.
Western Blot
A technique used to detect specific proteins in a sample using gel electrophoresis followed by transfer to a membrane.
Gene Therapy
A technique that uses genes to treat or prevent diseases by inserting a gene into a patient's cells instead of using drugs or surgery.
ELISA
Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay, a test used to detect and quantify proteins or antibodies in a sample.
Agglutination Test
A test that detects the presence of an antibody or antigen by the clumping of particles.
Double Diffusion Assay
A technique used to determine the identity of proteins through the diffusion of antibodies and antigens in agar.
Fluorescence Microscopy
An imaging technique that uses fluorescence to view structures in biological samples.
Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET)
A technique that detects protein-protein interactions through energy transfer between two fluorescent molecules.
