Air
A mixture of gases in unequal proportions, primarily consisting of Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Carbon dioxide.
Oxygen
A gas that makes up 21% of air; it is necessary for respiration and is the only component of air that supports combustion.
Nitrogen
The largest component of air, making up 78% of the mixture, which does not support combustion.
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
A gas that makes up 0.04% of air and does not support combustion.
Combustion
The process of a material combining with oxygen; it requires fuel, oxygen, and heat to occur and continue.
Fuel
One of the three conditions required for combustion, defined as something that can burn.
Heat
One of the three conditions for combustion, required in a sufficient amount to start a fire.
Benban Solar Station
A clean energy facility located near Aswan that generates electricity from the sun and wind to reduce CO2 and export energy.
Oxygen Gas Collection
A method used for gases not too soluble in water, involving turning a jar filled with water upside down until it is 70% filled with gas.
