Situation A
-Ask your partner what kinds of technology they have in their house/apartment/dorm room. Ask them what they use the most.
-Ask your partner if they and their friends talk to each other more on the phone or in person (reciprocal reflexive).
-Ask your partner if they and their friends send each other text messages much (reciprocal reflexives).
-Ask your partner what technology they will use today (future tense).
-Tell your classmate to call you later so you can study together for the final exam (informal command).
Situation B
-Ask your partner where they used to live (imperfect) while in high school—a house, apartment, condo, etc.? Ask them to describe the place.
-Ask your partner where they live now. Ask what kind of furniture they have.
-Ask your partner who does what chores where they live now.
-Ask your partner if they prefer to live in a house or an apartment/condo in the future, and why.
-Give your partner a recommendation as to where they should live in the future, and if they should buy a place or rent (present subjunctive).
Situation C
-Ask your partner what their favorite natural space is (park, etc.). Ask them to describe what it's like and what they like to do there.
-Ask your partner what kinds of things they recycle.
-Ask your partner what they think some of the biggest environmental -problems are in theTwin Cities.
-Tell your partner about a specific situation that worries/surprises you (present subjunctive), and ask what they think we can do about it.
-Ask your partner what they will do outdoors this weekend (future).
Situation D
-Ask your partner what errands they have to do this week. Ask them where they have to go to do those errands.
-Ask your partner how they usually pay when they are at various different places (e.g., the post office, the barber/hair salon, a shoe store).
-Ask your partner what their favorite bakery/ice cream shop/supermarket/laundromat in St. Paul (or their home town) is and why. Ask them if they have been there recently (present perfect).
-Ask your partner when the place that they mentioned is open. Based on what your partner says, suggest that you two go to that place sometime and buy/eat/wash something (use at least two nosotros commands).
-Tell your partner about the kind of restaurant that you'd like to eat at to celebrate the end of the semester (conditional) and ask them for some suggestions
Situation E
-Ask your partner how they feel right now—stressed, relaxed, under a lot of pressure.
-Ask your partner how many years of Spanish they had taken (past perfect) before this class.
-Ask your partner what they do to stay in shape. Ask your partner what active things they have done in the last few days (present perfect).
-Ask your partner if they eat a balanced diet? Ask them what they have eaten in the last two days (present perfect) and see if you agree.
-Based on what your partner has said, give them a few suggestions to live a healthy lifestyle.
Situation F
-Ask your partner what they study, what they like to do, and what some of their best characteristics are.
-Based on what they tell you, suggest a couple of possible careers that you think they would be good at (conditional).
-Ask your partner what types of jobs they would like to have when they are older, and what types of jobs they would not like to do (conditional).
-Ask your partner what aspects of a job are important to them: the benefits, the salary, obtaining respect and promotion opportunities.
-Ask your partner what type of work they will do this summer (future).
