Initial Position (xi)
The starting location of the cyclist, given as 25m [E] (25m East).
Final Position (xf)
The ending location of the cyclist, given as 10m [W] (10m West, corresponding to −10m relative to the East direction).
Cyclist's Displacement (Δx)
The vector change in position, calculated as Δx=xf−xi=−10m−25m=−35m, which corresponds to a displacement of 35m towards the West.
Cyclist's Total Distance (dt)
The total path length traveled by the cyclist, calculated as dt=25m+10m=35m.
Horizontal Line on a Position vs. Time Graph
A graphical representation indicating that an object is at rest (immobile), because its position does not change over time.
