Explanation/Significance: Written communications are essential to business communication as it needs to be clear and efficient. By considering these factors, we can ensure the intended messages go through and a desired outcome is achieved.

Explain the nature of effective verbal communications

Definition: Effective verbal communications are communications that are generally face-to-face, efficient, and clear.

Explanation/Significance: Effective verbal communication is essential in any relationship, as it helps build a connection and allows the message to go through in a respectful and meaningful way.

Employ communication styles appropriate to target audience

• Definition: When choosing a communication style, it is important to consider the audience and their needs. In order to get to know the audience and to communicate effectively, you must identify the following:

  • What is your information?

  • How much information does your audience need?

  • What obstacles must you overcome with the target audience?

  • How will your audience use this information?

  • What method of communication is best suited to this message?

• Explanation/Significance: Based on this information, you can decide how much data and detail to divulge or how much emotional language and connection to establish.

Explanation/Significance: Staff communication creates an efficient way to communicate ideas within the business, creates a positive work environment, and establishes trust among employees and staff and allows for a positive contribution towards an organization’s goals effectively and efficiently.
