15g of carbs & check BG every 15 min
You, the nurse, are using the rule of 15 on a diabetic pede pt. You check their BG after 15 min and it is still low, you give them another dose of 15g of carbs, check it AGAIN in 15 min and the BG is STILL low, what would be the course of action now?

When an adult pt has severe hypoglycemia & ATP is UNCONSCIOUS, what would we give NOW? What safety precautions would we take while administering this med?
Glucagon; turn them to their side
