Where are electrons found in an atom
Electrons are found outside the nucleus, in the shells of the atom.
Why is a neutron called neutral?
A neutron is called neutral because it has no charge, it isn’t positively or negatively charged.
What is a conductor and what is an insulator?
A conductor is a material that lets electricity flow through it easily. An insulator is a material that doesn’t let electricity flow through it easily.
Why is it important for objects to be insulated?
It is important for objects to be insulated because the insulator stops the object’s electricity from shocking a person if they touch it, which can be fatal.
How does an object gain electrons?
An object gains electrons when it experiences friction with another object that has a stronger pull on electrons (like insulators), causing electrons to transfer from the first object to the second.
Two examples of insulators ans conductors.
Insulators: Metal clip, metal plate
Conductor: Glass, plastic straw
How do electron move from object to object?
Electrons move from object to object when it comes in contact with another object that either has a strong pull to electrons, or has an electrical imbalance in its nucleus, so the electrons try to even out the changes.
