International Relations
The Study of International Politics and the activities partaken by states which includes International Trade, Diplomacy, War, Foreign Policy Etc
academic discipline and a field of practice focused on the study of interactions between sovereign states, as well as non-state actors
Theory
The study of international relations from a set perspective, used as a framework to better understand how the world works.
Hypothesis
A testable proposition that predicts a way a relationship between two states / NSAs will go
Anarchy
The natural state of world politics. Essentially a free for fall, no one universal world government that dictates everything fairly
Levels of Analysis
How scholars look at the world, usually broken down into Global/System, State, and Individual
Power
A nations ability to control/project itself onto the world stage
State
The government which rules over a demarcated territory and represents the interests of the nation
Nation
A common group of people united by ethnicity, culture, religion, or political belief
Sanctions
Commercial or Financial Penalties applied by one or more countries against another country/group to force a change in behavior
