Energy liberation - ATP and NADH are produced, and the GP are converted to pyruvate
What is an overview of the Krebs cycle (citric acid)?
The citric acid completes the breakdown of pyruvate which was generated from glycolysis
What are the key steps of Krebs cycle?
Acetyl-CoA formation - pyruvate is converted to acetylene-CoA producing NADH
Citric acid cycle - Acetyl-CoA enters the cycle producing NADH, FADH2 and GTP

Inner mitochondrial membrane
What is an overview of oxidative phosphorylation?
ETC and chemiosmosis work together to generate ATP using the energy released from when electron are transferred

Electrons from NADH and FADH2 move though ETC
Energy released pumps protons across the membrane creating an electrochemical gradient
Protons flow back through ATP synthase, synthesising ATP
Oxygen acts as the final electron acceptor, forming water.
