ได้, เป็น, ไหว

มันไม่หนัก ผมยกได้

It’s not heavy. I can lift it.

มันหนักเกินไป ผมยกไม่ได้

It’s too heavy. I can’t lift it.

เขาทำงานอยู่ เขาไปกับเราไม่ได้

He’s working. He can’t go with us.

เจนมีเงิน เธอจ่ายได้

Jane has money. She can pay.

ฉันไปกับคุณพรุ่งนี้ได้ แต่วันนี้ฉันไปไม่ได้

I can go with you tomorrow, but I can’t go today.

ปีเตอร์พูดภาษาไทยได้ แต่เจนพูดไม่ได้

Peter can speak Thai, but Jane can’t.

เราว่ายน้ำที่นี่ได้

We can swim here.

ฉันว่ายน้ำไม่เป็น

I can’t swim. (I don’t know how to swim.)

ผมทำไม่เป็น

I can’t do it. (I don’t know how to do it.)

คุณขับรถเป็นไหม เป็น ไม่เป็น

Can you drive? (Do you know how to drive?) Yes, I can. No, I can’t.

ฉันทำอาหารอิตาลีเป็น แต่สามีทำไม่เป็น

I can cook Italian food, but my husband can’t.

ผมกินอาหารทะเลไม่เป็น

I can’t eat seafood. (I don’t normally eat seafood.)

ภรรยาของผมดื่มไวน์ไม่เป็น

My wife doesn’t drink wine. (She doesn’t usually drink wine.)

มันไม่หนัก แต่ฉันยกไม่ไหว

It’s not heavy, but I can’t lift it.

ผมวิ่งต่อไม่ไหว

I can’t run any further.

เขาดื่มเบียร์อีกไม่ไหว

He can’t drink any more beer.

ฉันอิ่มแล้ว ฉันกินอีกไม่ไหว

I’m full. I can’t eat any more.

ทนไม่ไหวแล้ว

I can’t stand it any longer. (I can’t take it.)

เดินอีกหน่อยนึงไหวไหม

Can you walk a little further?

ลิฟต์เสีย เดินขึ้นสามชั้นไหวไหม ไหว ไม่ไหว

The lift is broken. Can you walk up three floors? Yes, I can. No, I can’t.
