Jesus is one divine person with two natures: a human nature and a Divine Nature.

Jesus is- Jesus does not become a second person

Divine- the son of the father : persons; son, father, holy spirit

Person- intellectual being

natures: determines what a thing can do

human nature- Christ assumes a human nature : body and soul can grow and suffer and die

Divine nature- Christ retains his divine nature , fullness of being and everything else we said about the nature of God.

yes in his human nature . he has a body and soul like ours. But no in his divine nature because he has no body and soul that can separate.

What happened on Good Friday

Jesus' body and soul separated

- His body remained in the tomb

- His soul descended into " the place of the dead"

both remained individually united to His divine person

What happened on Easter Sunday

Jesus' body and soul were reunited and transformed by the power of his Divine Person.

what evidence do you see that Jesus was not a ghost? a ghost is a soul without a body

When Jesus says that he has flesh and bones therefore he is not a ghost , as well as he eats food.

What evidence do you see that the resurrection was not a resuscitation ? Resuscitation involves a soul being reunited with its same earthly body.

This is not a resusciation because Jesus' body is transformed with supernatural powers by unlocking the door.

What evidence do you see that the resurrection was not a reincarnation? Reincarnation involves a soul being united with another mortal body.

The evidence that Jesus resurrected and not reincarnated is when he states " see my hand and my feet, that is I myself." This states he claims his own body.

what if the apostles were deceived and they were just hallucinating?

too many people ( more than 500)

what if the apostles made it up like a nice and inspiring myth?

there was not enough time to develop before the accounts were written . written in myth style

What if the apostles started a conspiracy?

what did they have to gain?

what if jesus didnt actually die it was a swoon or coma?

- You cant survive a crucifixion

- Jesus died in a glorified body ( no wounds)

Does it matter whether the ressurection was a real, historical event?

YES ABSOLUTLY YES! it is infinitely important ! our salvation depends on it!

What is the importance of the literal resurrection ?

Distinguishes Jesus from all other religious founders. The Resurrection completes our salvation. Jesus is divinity, validate the truth of everything else he said, for God cannot lie. The literal resurrection proves that God has power over sin a death claiming God loves the physical world, and all of its children . My preaching and faith would be useless.
