Growth Hormone Deficiency
A condition where there is a lack of growth hormone from the pituitary gland, impacting overall growth and development.
Acromegaly
A disorder caused by excess growth hormone, occurring after the growth plates have closed, leading to abnormal bone growth.
Diabetes Insipidus (DI)
A condition characterized by an undersecretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH), resulting in excessive urination and thirst.
Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH)
A condition where there is too much antidiuretic hormone, leading to fluid retention and low urine output.
Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
An autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid, often leading to hypothyroidism.
Cushing’s Syndrome
A condition characterized by excessive free cortisol which can be caused by pituitary tumors or prolonged steroid use.
Pituitary Gland
The master gland of the endocrine system that secretes hormones to regulate growth, metabolism, and other endocrine functions.
Hypopituitarism
A condition in which the pituitary gland does not produce sufficient amounts of certain hormones.
Adrenal Crisis
A life-threatening condition resulting from a sudden decrease in adrenal hormones, often due to trauma or abrupt cessation of corticosteroids.
Precocious Puberty
Sexual development before age nine in boys and before age eight in girls, often associated with either central or peripheral causes.
