Gastritis
Inflammation of the stomach epithelial layer by gastric juice when the stomach is empty
If left untreated, gastric ulcers can develop
Causes: Irregular eating patterns, excessive alcohol and painkiller use.
Anorexia nervosa
Avoiding food to achieve an ideal body weight
Patients suffer from psychological problems and nutrient deficiency because their digestive system is affected
Bulimia nervosa
Vomiting or taking laxatives that cause diarrhoea after eating a lot
Patients suffer from dehydration, nutrient deficiency, and eventually cardiovascular disease or kidney failure
Muscle dysmorphia
Small muscle size with not enough growth
Patients subject themselves to extreme training and weightlifting
They may consume steroids or muscle building supplements
Diabetes type 2
High blood glucose due to a lack of insulin to facilitate glucose movement
Obesity
An accumulation of body fat due to eating more calories than the body requires
Acid reflux
Backflow of stomach acid into the oesophagus
Pica
An eating disorder where non-nutritional objects are eaten persistently
Gastric bypass
Reduction of stomach size through diverse operative methods
Patients may suffer from nausea, vomiting, acid reflux
Patients may also suffer from malnutrition, stomach ulcer, complications in bowel movement
