Cambodian-Vietnamese War
1978-1989: Vietnamese troops invaded Cambodia to oust Khmer Rouge
China briefly attacked Vietnam in response.
Resulted in the 1991 Paris Peace Accords and the end of Cambodia's genocide. Vietnam overthrew Democratic Kampuchea (Cambodia under the Rouge)

1958-1962: Mao Zedong's plan to rapidly industrialize China.
Caused a massive famine, millions of deaths, and damaged China's global credibility.

1936-1938: Stalin's brutal purge of perceived enemies within the USSR.
Created a climate of fear and weakened Soviet military leadership before WW2.
Ho Chi Minh Trail
North Vietnamese supply route through Laos and Cambodia into South Vietnam.

1945: British plan (Never executed) to attack USSR post-WW2 using Western and German forces.
Demonstrated early mistrust.
Six Day War
1967: Israel preemptively struck Arab states and seized territory (Golan Heights, The West Bank of the Jordan River and the Sanai Peninsula)
Yom Kippur War
1973: Egypt and Syria attacked Isreal on Jewish holy day. Led to OPEC oil embargo.
