Maintains constant lvl of positive airway pressure during breathing cycle to keep airways open

Flow restricted oxygen powered device ((FROPVD))

Device using oxygen under pressure to deliver controlled breaths; common in emergencies for rapid delivery of high concentration of oxygen

Automatic transport ventilator ((ATV))

Portable device automatically delivering pre- set volumes / pressures of air; common in emergencies

Instead into mouth to prevent tongue from blocking oropharynx; for pt w/o gag reflex

Inserted in nose bypassing nasal passage & oropharynx blockages; when OPA not suitable
