What can be hashed

Any file, or file format. Examples, .txt., .pdf, .jpe.

Why hashing is useful

Hashing helps computers and services tell if something is altered and it helps them identify things easier since all hash codes are different.

Salting is adding range characteres to a password before it is sent

Hardening is the concept. of making a system harder to hack

How do you harden a system

- delete unsued apps

- shutdown unused ports

- change default password.

- Disable unused accounts
