Position of attention

  • heels should be together in a line

  • place the heels as near each other as the conformation of the body permits

  • ensure the feet are pointed outwards equally, forming a 45-degree angle between the feet

  • Bracelets espousing support for cause, philosophy, individual or group are not authorized (Exception: Traditional metal POW/MIA/KIA bracelelts, which come in colors beside silver, bronze, or gold, remain authorized)

  • No rubber or fabric type bracelets are allowed

  • hair will present a tapered appearance on both sides and the back of the head, both with and without headgear.

  • A tapered appearance is one that when viewed from any angle outlines the member’s hair so that is conforms to the shape of the head, curving inward to the natural termination point without eccentric directional flow, twists or spiking 

  • A block-cut is permitted with tapered appearance

  • Hair will not exceed 2 ½ inches in bulk regardless of length and ¼ inch at natural termination point; allowing only closely cut or shaved hair on the back of the next to touch the collar

Light blue short sleeve shirt

  • Shirt must be tucked in when worn

  • A plain white V-neck t-shirt (or a tank top) without pockets will be worn underneath and tucked in.

  • The shirt must be clean, pressed, and have only one crease on each sleeve

Trousers

Ribbons

  • All ribbons must be worn and in proper order, with the lowest ribbon worn at the lower left position and the highest ribbon at the top right from the uniform wearer’s perspective 

  • Ribbons will be worn with a plastic or plain cardboard backing to prevent sagging 

  • If a ribbon is awarded more than once, oak leaf clusters will be used to signify each additional award

  • No awards will be rewarded after a sixth qualification 

  • Oak leaf clusters will be placed centered on the ribbon and leaf pointing to the top right corner 

  • If cadets earn sister service ribbons, the ribbons ma be exchanged for an AFJROTC equivalent as determined by the ASIs. 

  • The lowest ribbon rack will be above the pocket of the blue shirt without a gap

Skirts, Pumps, and Hosiery (Females)

  • The skirt hangs naturally over the hips with a slight flare 

  • The skirt will be no shorter than the top of the kneecap and no longer than the bottom of the kneecap when standing at attention 

  • Black pumps may only be worn with the skirt and can be worn instead of uniform shoes but can not exceed 2 ½ inches tall, measured from the inside sole 

  • The tip of the heel must exceed ½ inch in diameter or lerger than the body of the boot

  • Pointed or squared toes and extreme heel shapes are not authorized

  • They will be plain, clean, and servicable, without ornamentation such as buckles, bows, or straps

  • Hosiery must be sheer in a neutral dark brown, black, off black, or dark blue shade that complements the uniform and your skin tone. 

  • Hosiery cannot be patterned

What are the hazing and physical abuse discipline prohibitions?

- Any inappropriate physical contact such as shoving, pulling, or grabbing is prohibited
