Are the processes that take place at near the earth surface. They are responsible for degradation and sculpting the earth surface.
Exogenic processes
Is the process of breaking rocks into smaller pieces. It happens in the same place where the rock is found.
Weathering
Rocks break but do not change what they are made of. Caused by heat, cold, water freezing, and plant roots.
Physical/mechanical weathering
Rocks expand and are fractured when exposed to high temperature.
Temperature
When water accumulates in the crack and that point freezes, the ice expand and breaks the rock apart.
Frost wedging
The breakdown of rocks is caused by impact and friction.
Abrasion
The roots grow causing penetration into the crack
Organic activity
Is the process of breaking down rock through chemical change.
Chemical weathering
It occurs in specific minerals which are dissolve in water.
Dissolution
Rock forming mineral react with water and form different clay mineral.
Hydrolysis
It is the response of oxygen with minerals

Limestone dissolving in rainwater
Chemical weathering
It is the process of moving broken rocks and soil from one place to another. Those rock particles are carried away by the wind, water, ice, and gravity.
Erosion
It is the movement of sediment downslope under the influence of gravity
Mass wasting
A sudden, rapid, and destructive downward movement of detached rock fragments or boulders plunging from a steep cliff or slope due to gravity.
Rocks falls
Is the movement of rock, soil, or debris down a slope due to gravity
Landslide
is a moving mass of loose mud, sand, soil, rock, and water that travels down a slope under the influence of gravity.
Debris and mud flow
Is the process in which the weathered materials carried out by erosion settle down in a particular position
