Angles between parallel lines
The angles formed when two parallel lines are cut by a secant line.
Lines BD and CE
The specific lines identified as parallel in the lecture notes diagram.
Line AF
The line identified as the secant that cuts across the parallel lines.
Vertically opposite angles
Angles formed when two lines cross; they are located in front of each other relative to the vertex and measure the same.
Corresponding angles
Angles that occupy the same position and are on the same side of the transversal when it cuts two parallel lines; these angles are equal.
Alternate interior angles
Angles located inside the parallel lines and on opposite sides of the transversal; they have the same measurement.
Alternate exterior angles
Angles located outside the parallel lines and on opposite sides of the transversal; they are equal in measure.
