Where is this proved from the Holy Qur'an that the Messiah son of Maryam was dead? Instead, these two sentences of the verses, namely, are referring to the fact that Christ was lifted up to heaven with his body. In the same way the verse An-Nisa 4:158 indicates that Christ was neither crucified nor killed?

Raised up to God Almighty has the same meanings as dying- 264 • Human beings are divided into two groups:- 266 • In Ascencion, Jesus was among dead - 266 • Some ignorant people think that these verses have more meanings The word Tawwafi is used in 23 places in the Holy Quran- 267 • In the two verses, the word Tawwafi is mentioned in the meanings of sleep- 269 • Is there any such verse in the Holy Qur'an that by writing the word any other meaning instead of death has been taken from it?- 270 • why the word is used everywhere in the Holy Qur'an, why is the word َماتت ِا Is not used?- 270 • Sleep is a form death,... death is capturing of the soul; - 271 • God Almighty has nothing to do with taking up and lifting the body - 273 • The word Tawwafi is used for both Hazrat Isa as and the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.- 274 • What is the meaning of of رفع in یل ا رافعک which is used in the Holy Qur'an?- 275 The Holy Prophet saw has attained the highest exaltation.- 275 • Some commentators tried to swap the words in the verse- 276 4:158, does not mean that Christ did not die. 277

In disproving the return of Christ, the argument that has been presented is that the death of Christ is proven and every righteous believer will enter heaven after death and everyone who enters heaven will be in accordance with the verse, has the right to stay in heaven forever.

This argument is not correct, because if this is true, then it follows that the story that is narrated in the Holy Qur'an about Prophet Uzair, that he died for 100 years and then God Almighty revived him, is because according to the assumption above, one must believe that he was expelled from Paradise. In the same way, by taking the meanings of this verse apparantly, the resurrection of the dead from the graves and coming to the presence of the Lord of the Worlds in the field of reckoning, all these things, by interpreting this verse in such a way that a righteous person enters heaven without stopping after death and then he never comes out, they become invalid and a severe chaos is created in the Muslim belief of Islam. • Mention of the eternal dwellers in Paradise- 281 • The dead will be resurrected from the graves -282 • Heaven and hell are divided into three levels - 282 • Contrary to the general belief that only martyrs will enter in the heaven and all other will wait till the Last Day, all in 4 groups will see heaven. • Hazart Uzair never left heaven and returned to the world. • The story in the Holy Qur'an about Prophet Uzair, that he died for 100 years and then God Almighty revived him, one must believe that he was expelled from Paradise.? - 287

The following verse of the Holy Qur'an refers to the life of the Messiah Ibn Maryam and it is An-Nisa' 4:160 because it means that before the death of the Messiah, all the People of the Book will believe in him. Besides, the meaning of the verse shows that Christ must live until all the People of the Book believe in him. part 1

That is it possible that at the time of the descent of Christ, God Almighty will resurrect all the people of the book who died in the state of disbelief from the time of Christ's resurrection to the second coming of Christ?- 289 • Some people, being a bit shy, give the interpretation that the People of the Book mean those who will be present in the world at the time of Christ's return, and they will all believe as soon as they see Christ, and before Christ, they will all enter the army of believers?- 289 • If those meanings of the above mentioned verse are not correct, then which meanings are correct?- 290 • A sign of the truthfulness of the Holy Prophet saw and the Holy Quran which is revealed to the Promised Messiah regarding the doubt on death of Jesus - 293 • If the question is asked whether or not there can be any argument on the basis of the Gospel about the non-crucifixion of Christ?- 294 • The story of crucifixion and background- 294 • What is the meaning of the word that occurs in the last verse, 298 • Our clerics do not look at those places and some of them cleverly say that we then believe that this is what the Holy Quran says that Christ died, but is not Allah Almighty able to resurrect him and bring him into the world? Some scholars very simply give the excuse that what is mentioned in this after and and • An-Nisa' 4:159 • of the Holy Qur'an, this proves to be resurrected and they say that if this meaning is not true, then why did the word not come in favor of anyone except Christ?- 299

The mention of the descent of Ibn Maryam, which is present in the ahadith, no one among the predecessors and successors has explained that the word of Ibn Maryam, which is obviously considered to be Jesus Christ, does not actually mean this, but something similar to it. Is. Apart from this, there is a consensus that the texts should be taken physically and should not be turned to the virtual side without strong evidence.

In understanding prophecies mistakes may be made: • Hafiz Hidayat Ali - 308 • prophecies are similar to pregnant women - 308 • The objection will be raised in the heart of someone that if the prophecies are under such status, they do not be worthy of credibility and do not be worthy of being considered as a proof and a witness of the Prophet's truthfulness - 308 • It is a big mistake and a big deception to consider prophecies as a revealed fact like fasting and salat - 310 • Prophecies with different meanings - 310 • Leave me with my God Almighty. During the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Christians believed that the Messiah Ibne Maryam would come back to this world. If this belief was not true, why did God Almighty not deny it in the Holy Qur'an, instead, the coming of Ibne Maryam was promised in ahadith?

Question. There is this verse in Surah Az-Zukhruf Az-Zukhruf 43:62 [But, verily, he was a sign of the Hour. So entertain no doubt about it,] that is, it is a sign of the existence of the Day of Judgment, so do not doubt about the existence of the sign of the Day of Judgment. The sign refers to Hazrat Isa who will descend near the Day of Judgment and this verse proves that he will be descended.

It is obvious that God Almighty wants to accuse the deniers of the Day of Resurrection by presenting this verse, why do you doubt the resurrection of the dead after seeing this sign. The Holy Qur'an is a sign for the resurrection of the dead because It is giving life to the dead hearts.

The Removal of Misconceptions - Izalai Auham, this book is a continuation of.....

This book is a continuation of earlier two books, Fathe Islam and Taudih-e-Maram and was published in two parts.

33
New cards

Victory of Islam; Fathe Islam; 1890 background?

The Christian designs to spread Christianity all over India were not a secret. The Cambridge Short History of India published by the Cambridge University, on pages 715 and 716, says: "That God has given the dominion of India to Britain so that the whole of India could be converted into a Christian land." In short, there was an all-out effort to convert the Indians, specially the Muslims to Christianity. It was against this background that the Promised Messiahas took up the task of frustrating the designs of Christian missionaries by demolishing the false beliefs of Christianity specially the belief that Jesus was the son of God and was sitting alive in heaven.

34
New cards

Victory of Islam; Fathe Islam; 1890 the book?

In this book, the Promised Messiahas established, beyond any shadow of doubt, that : • Jesus was not crucified and that he died a natural death, and • he declared that the advent of the Promised Messiah and Mahdi had taken place in his person. • The Promised Messiahas declared further that he had been commissioned by God in the name of Jesus so that he could demolish the false beliefs of Christianity. • Therefore, he had come to break the Cross and kill the swine. He also discussed the five ways in which he was striving to achieve this purpose: (1) publication of books, (2) the issuance of leaflets, (3) visitors, guests, (4) correspondence, and (5) accepting bai'at. He needed funds to carry on his work, therefore, he appealed to Muslims for help. He had devoted friends like Hadrat Maulavi Hakim Nur-ud-Din, each of whom was prepared, he said, to bear the entire cost of publication of the books, but this he could not allow this. He wanted the whole community to cooperate and share with him the expenses so that they might all be blessed. At the end of this book, he announced that he would welcome all kinds of questions, and objections against Islam, the Holy Quran, the Holy Prophetsa and his own self, and that, if they wrote to him, he would answer them.

35
New cards

Elucidation of Objectives; Taudih-e Maram; 1890 background?

The Promised Messiah as has described this book as a continuation of his first book, Fathe Islam. He tackled a number of objections advanced against his claim and established that he was the Promised Messiah and gave examples of how close he bears a resemblance and the similarities to Jesus Christ.

36
New cards

Elucidation of Objectives; Taudih-e Maram; 1890 book? part 1

In this book, the promised messiah gave a beautiful commentary on the Quranic Chapter 91, al-Shams, and explained that man is the crown of all creation and that the angels, stars, and elements were all subservient to him. • Incidentally, he also threw light on the functions and nature of angel. Gabriel's functions are particularly discussed. • He also described the vast scope of spiritual progress that is open to man, and • explained that inspiration and visions were the distinguishing features of God's true saints and prophets and that this door is open to all. Therefore, it was not unusual or impossible that in this age, he should be chosen by God as the Promised Reformer. The Promised Messiahas was aware of the prevalent belief among Muslims that Jesus Christ was elevated to heaven and is sitting in heaven alive and that he will descend one day from heaven. In order to counter the criticism of the ulema, he made a plea that before raising objections against the views presented by him, the ulema should read his three books together, namely, Fathe Islam, Taudih-e-Maram and Izala'i- e-Auham, in order to get a complete picture. • The Promised Messiahas made a forceful plea that unless the false beliefs like the one that Jesus Christ was alive in the heaven are completely demolished, it would not be possible for the Muslims to enter into a debate or an argument with Christians whose entire edifice of Christian superiority is built around this very fundamental belief, and once this belief is demolished, the Christians would not be able to establish any superiority over Islam.

37
New cards

Elucidation of Objectives; Taudih-e Maram; 1890 book? part 2

The book begins with a comparison of the miracles shown by Jesus and the Promised Messiahas . Then he answers the questions as to: What this Messiah (Hazrat Ahmad(as)) had done as compared with Jesus Christ(as) who is said to have give life to the dead, eyes to the blind and hearing power to the deaf. He draws the attention of the people to the fact that the books Hadith do not say that the Promised Messiah(as) will give life to the dead rather they say that: The living will be caused to die with his breath. Moreover, he says that, God has sent him to give spiritual life to spiritually dead people and in this connection he asserts that those will be made to live through him (Hazrat Ahmad(as)) will never die. If life-giving words which were also full of wisdom could be uttered someone else also, then he would admit that he had not been sent by God.

38

The Removal of Misconceptions; Izala-e-Auham; summary?

This book starts with an appeal to the opponents that they should come forward for divine decision. Hazrat Ahmad(as) invites them to show heavenly signs as he was doing and assures them that if they will try to do so, they will be put to shame, for, they will not receive any heave succour. In order to counter the criticism of the ulema, The Promised Messiah as made a plea that the ulema should read the three ...books together before expressing any contradictory views.

39

Which confession did the promised messiah make in izala-e-auham?

The Promised Messiah as had made a Confession," Allah knows that I am a Muslim." O those who doubt! Come to the heavenly judgment O elders! O Mullah! Oh, the chosen people of the nation! May God Almighty open the eyes of your people, do not go beyond the limit in anger and rage. Read both parts of this book of mine carefully, for there is light and guidance in them. Fear God Almighty and hold your tongues from disbelief. God Almighty knows very well that I am a Muslim. I believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and His resurrection after death. I bear witness that there is no God. And if you still have doubts after reading this book, come and try who God is with. O my opponent mullahs and sufis! And clericks!!! Who are disbelievers and liars, I have been assured that if you, together or one by one, want to fight against me in those heavenly signs that are necessary for the saints, then God Almighty will put you to shame and will tear your veils and at that time you will see that he is with me. Is there anyone among you? Who would come for the competition and by giving public notice through the newspapers, compare in the relation of acceptance which my Lord has with me, with his relations? Remember that God is the helper of the righteous, He will help those whom He knows to be true. Abandon cunnings for He is near. Will you fight Him? Can one really rise high by arrogant leaps, or will the truth be cut off by mere swiftness of the tongue? Fear the One whose wrath is above all wraths. Taha 20:75

The answer to the question that Hazrat Masih son of Mary raised the dead and gave eyes to the blind and opened the ears of the deaf, of all these miracles what did the similar to Christ show?

In this place, first of all, this answer is sufficient that regarding the Messiah whom the Muslims are waiting for,

  1. it is never written in the ahadith that the dead will be raised from his hands, but it is written that the living will die from his breath.

  2. God Almighty has sent this humble person for this purpose, that spiritually dead should be resurrected, the ears of the deaf should be opened, the lepers should be cleansed, and those who are in the graves should be brought out

41
New cards

What is the reason of similarity? And what is the only difference?

The reason of similarity is that just as

  1. Christ the son of Maryam presented the correct summary and the original essence of the Torah in the Gospel,

  2. it is the duty of this humble person to present the real teachings of the Holy Quran for the explanation of the people.

  3. Christ came only for the purpose to reveal the commandments of the Torah in its essence.

  4. Similarly, this humble person has also been sent for the same task to explain the commands of the Holy Qur'an in detail. The only difference is that

  5. that Christ was given to Moses and

  6. this Christ is given to the one similar to Moses [The Holy Prophet saw].

What are the miracles shown by Jesus(as) part 1?

Miracles of Jesus as 3: 50 And will make him a Messenger to the children of Israel (to say): 'I come to you with a Sign from your Lord, which is, that I will fashion out for you a creation out of clay after the manner of a bird, then I will breathe into it a new spirit and it will become a soaring being by the command of Allah; and I will heal the night-blind and the leprous, and I will quicken the dead, by the command of Allah; and I will announce to you what you will eat and what you will store up in your houses. Surely, therein is a Sign for you, if you be believers. And will make him a Messenger to the children of Israel (to say): The words "a Messenger to the Children of Israel" show that the mission of Jesus was confined to the House of Israel. He was not a World- Messenger 'I come to you with a Sign from your Lord, which is, that I will fashion out for you Khalaqa means, he measured, designed, fashioned or planned; God produced or created or brought into existence a thing or being without there being any previously existing pattern or model or similitude, i.e. he originated it a creation out of clay Tin means, clay; earth; mould; etc. Figuratively, at-Tin may signify such persons as possess docile natures suitable for being moulded into any good shape like pliable clay.

43
New cards

What are the miracles shown by Jesus(as) part 2?

after the manner of a bird, Tair means, a bird. Metaphorically the word signifies a highly spiritual man who soars high into spiritual regions as Asad (literally a lion) is used for a brave man and Dabbah for a worthless person, a worm of the earth (34:15). then I will breathe into it a new spirit and it will become a soaring being by the command of Allah; and I will heal the night-blind and the leprous, 'Ubri'u is derived from Bari'a which means, he was or became clear or free from a thing and signifies, I heal; I declare a person free from the defect attributed to him (Lane)

44
New cards

What are the miracles shown by Jesus(as) part 3?

the night-blind and the leprous, Akmah means, one who cannot see at night; one born blind; one who becomes blind afterward; one deprived of reason and understanding (Mufradat). As for healing the blind and the leprous, it appears from the Bible that persons suffering from certain diseases (leprosy, etc.) were considered unclean by the Israelites and were not allowed to have social contact with other men. The word, "I declare to be free;" signify that the legal or social disabilities and disadvantages, under which persons suffering from such maladies laboured, were removed by Jesus. Or that Jesus used to heal persons suffering from these diseases. The Prophets of God are spiritual physicians; they give eyes to those that have lost spiritual sight, and hearing to those who are spiritually deaf, and they restore to life those who are spiritually dead (Matt. 13:15). In this case the word Akmah would mean such a person as possesses the light of faith but being weak of resolve cannot stand trials. He sees in daytime, i.e. so long as there are no trials and the sun of faith shines forth unclouded, but when the night comes, i.e. when there are trials and sacrifices have to be made, he loses his spiritual vision and stands still (cf. 2:21). Similarly, the word Abras (leprous) would, in the spiritual sense, mean one who is imperfect in faith, having patches of diseased skin among healthy ones.

45
New cards

What are the miracles shown by Jesus(as) part 4?

and I will quicken the dead, by the command of Allah; The clause, I will quicken the dead, does not mean that Jesus actually brought the dead to life. Those actually dead are never restored to life in this world. Such a belief is diametrically opposed to the whole Quranic teaching (2:29; 23:100, 101; 21:96; 39:59, 60; 40:12; 45:27). The marvellous moral transformation that God's Messengers bring about in the lives of their followers is termed "raising the dead to life," in spiritual terminology. and I will announce to you what you will eat and what you will store up in your houses. The entire clause may mean that Jesus told his disciples what they should eat, i.e. what they should spend to meet their physical needs, and what they should store up i.e. what they should lay up as spiritual treasure in Heaven. In other words he told them that their earnings should be honestly and lawfully acquired and that they should spend their savings in the way of God, having no thought for the morrow which should be left to God Surely, therein is a Sign for you, if you be believers. ]

Miracles of the Promised Messiah as.

  1. Verily, I say that those who are raised by the hand of Christ die, but whoever drinks of my hand that is given to me shall never die.

  2. The life-giving words that I speak and the wisdom that proceeds from my mouth. If someone else can say something like this, then understand that I did not come from God Almighty, but

  3. if this wisdom and knowledge that commands the water of life for dead hearts cannot be found elsewhere, then there is no excuse for this crime that you deny the source of that which has been opened in the heaven and no one on earth can close it, so do not be hasty to fight and do not knowingly enter under the accusation that God Almighty says. 17:37 And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge. [c]Verily, the ear and the eye and the heart—all these shall be called to account. Many prophecies of Jesus were not fulfilled... Judas Escariote (was deprived of the one of the 12 thrones what was prophecized about him. Peter was not only given the keys of the heavens but also command of the opening and closing the doors of heaven on others. He, on the contrary, cursed Jesus and refused to recognise him. Herod (chief of the city) wanted to see some miracles from Jesus. When he could'nt observe any miracles from him, Herod refused to believe in Jesus. Some of the prophecies of Hazrat Musa also did not appear in the situation that Hazrat Musa had hoped for in his heart.

Give the incident when someone asked Jesus for a miracle what did he reply?

Once some jurisprudence asked for a miracle. Jesus replied angrily that bad and bastard people ask for some signs(footnote), They will not be given any sign except the sign of the Prophet Yunus- (Prophet John)... This was to show that Yunus as didn't die in the belly of a fish so I will not enter in the grave as a dead. The prophecies of Jesus turned out to be more wrong than others. But this mistake is not in the revelations but is a mistake of understanding and comprehension, because he was a human being and human opinions can be both wrong and right, therefore these slips occurred as a result of comprehension.

The objections raised: The strong language occasionally used by him in his writings

The harsh words have been used in the writings with regard to the opponents, enraged by this, the opponents insulted Allah and His Messenger and published slanderous compilations. There is a clear command in the Holy Qur'an that you should not mention the deities of your opponents with any kind of insults, so that they do not open their tongue with blasphemy against God Almighty out of ignorance and malice but in here, contrary to the way commanded, harsh words are used.

What does the promised messiah say about his "harsh language?"

[It is felt by some that the Quran has very strong language that is very intimidating and sounds cruel. This is actually due to a misunderstanding of the purpose of the Quran. The Quran is not a diplomatic document meant to use false pretences to lure people into the faith. In fact, if the Quran had used such language, it may have been accused of hypocrisy and falsehood and no one would have accepted it. On the contrary, the Quran uses straightforward, transparent language so that the truth is conveyed as openly and clearly as possible. It does not mince words. What needs to be stated is stated with absolute clarity.] The Promised Messiah as states: I can honestly say that as far as I know, I have not used a single word that can be called swearing. The great illusion is that most people consider swearing and statements to be the same thing, and do not know how to distinguish between these two different meanings, on the contrary, every such thing which is actually an expression of a real matter and sticks in the context, just because of its bitterness, which is necessary for telling the truth, they consider it swearing. However, swearing and slander is only the name of the concepts that are used as a counter incident and a lie for the purpose of harassment, and if every harsh and abusive speech is labelled as swearing, only because of its bitterness and harshness and anguish, then you have to admit that the whole Quran is full of abusive words, because the harsh words of humiliation of idols and contempt of idol worshipers and cursing them have been used in the Holy Quran. These are not the kind of words that made the hearts of idolaters happy by hearing them, but undoubtedly these words must have stirred up their state of anger.

Christ called the respected scribes and Pharisees of the Jews by the name of swine and dogs, and called Herod, the supreme ruler of Galilee, as of fox, and the respected chief, priests and scribes as prostitutes, and calling the elders of the Jews, who were highly respected in the Caesarian government and sitting in the Caesarian courts, with these hateful and very hurtful and anti-civilized words that you are bastards, illegals, evildoers, unbelievers, fools. You are unbelieving, stupid, hypocrite, Satan, hellish, you are snakes, children of snakes. Are not all these words blatant and dirty abuses according to the opinion of the objector? It is clear that the objection of the objector is not only on me and my books, rather, in fact, the objector has attacked on all the books of God Almighty and all the messengers with the highest degree of rotten heart,.. Why prophets used the harsh language? The answer is to know the difference in Dashnam and narration!

56
New cards

It is alleged that Promised Messiah (alaihi salam) used harsh language which is not appropriate for a Prophet of Allah (article- Alislam)

It may sound offensive to some but the Quran does not shy away from stating what it is presenting as truth. The Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as), explains this in light of the incident when the same question was put to the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa) . When the Quran was being revealed in the early days and straightforward, truthful statements were being made about the false idols of the Quraish, they were offended and came to the Prophet's(sa) uncle, Abu Talib, to pass on their demand to the Prophet(sa) that he change his language. Abu Talib then called the Holy Prophet(sa) and told him that the people are offended by his language, and may even be enraged enough to try to kill him, and advised him to tone down his language, and refrain from using words that offend others. The Holy Prophet(sa) responded by saying that it is not abusive language that he is using. Instead, the language is a clear expression of truth, and stating of facts at the appropriate time, and this is precisely in accordance with his mission. The fear of death will not prevent him from stating what is true. Izala-e-Awham, Ruhani Khaza'in, vol. 3, p. 110-111

Quran's use of strong language?

In other words, the intention of the Quran is not to sound intimidating, harsh, or cruel. The Quran is filled with very beautiful passages and prayers, and reminders of how Allah blessed nations in the past. However, when it comes to evil, and Satanic thoughts and actions, the Quran makes its stance clear, and expresses its revulsion. What is more is that the clear language is meant to motivate individuals to act for their own betterment. If the Quran had not been clear on sin, many may have taken it lightly and may have suffered immensely by not taking a vile thing like sin seriously. In the very beginning of the Quran however, Allah made it clear that He is the Rabb—One Who provides sustenance and cares for the well-being of His creation; Rahman—One Who provides for His creation even without any action from the Creation; and Rahim—One Who rewards those who do good. Hence, the Quran makes it clear that God is a loving God who cares for His creation, and it is in fact an expression of His love that He is also clear about sin and other things that are harmful and destructive to humans.

Madahna is not allowed in Islam. Allah, may He be glorified, makes it clear in the prohibition of flattery

Al- Qalam 68:10 They wish that thou shouldst compromise so that they may also compromise.

In other words, the infidels of Makkah like this that if you take the path of denying the truth politely, then they should also agree to your religion, but this kind of agreeing is not approved by God Almighty. It should be noted that the clerics who have thought that God forbids any harsh speech in general. This is the fault of their own understanding, otherwise those bitter words which are necessary for expressing the truth and carry their own evidence with them, they should not only be allowed to speak clearly to every opponent, but it is a duty since time, not to suffer from the trial of flattering. The chosen servants of God Almighty were not afraid of the curse of anyone who curses or the rebuke of anyone who rebukes during the time of such hard preaching. It is not known that during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

60

Harsh names which is inconsistent with the dignity of a prophet.?

This is an entirely false charge and has no substance. The Promised Messiah, peace be on him, has not reviled anyone, but in certain cases he confronted some of his opponents with their true picture and that only when those opponents raised a storm of vituperation against him and reviled him and his followers in vicious language and issued declarations against him in terms of vile abuse. He then drew their attention to their vileness. To describe a blind person as sightless is not harsh or abusive. In the Holy Quran, the Jews and the Christians have been described as the vilest of creatures and have been called apes and swine and the worshippers of Satan (5:61). The Jews have been compared with a donkey carrying a load of books (62:6). A certain personality has been compared to a dog (7:177). It cannot be said that God Almighty has reviled these people or has used abusive language with reference to them. These expressions were employed against them in view of their moral and spiritual condition. Abuse is one thing and a correct description, however bitter and harsh, is quite another, It is the duty of every speaker of truth to convey the truth to an erring opponent even though he might thereby (Izalah Auham).

At another place he states: My words had assumed some severity against my opponents in my writings, but I was not the one to start such severity. Those writings were undertaken in reply to the severe attacks of my opponents. They had used such harsh and abusive language as called for some severity. This can be perceived by the comparison which I have instituted between the harsh language used by my opponents -and that used by me in the foreword of my book which I have called Kitabul Bariyyah. As I have just stated the harsh language used by me was by way of retort. It was my opponents who first used such language against me, I could have endured their harsh language without making a retort to it but I had recourse to a retort on account of two reasons: One, so that my opponents, being faced with severity in reply to their harsh strictures, might change their tactics and might revert in future to the use of civil language; and two, that the general Muslim public should not be aroused by the defamatory and provocative language used by my opponents. It is the duty of a pious man not to give away the ways of truth, but if the word of truth is spoken on the tongue of a lowly person and he commits a mistake by himself, then he should confess his mistake and speak with gratitude to this lowly person, he should believe in him and not claim that ر یْخَ اَنَا ُنہْمِ , otherwise he will never be guided in the state of arrogance, but the faith of such a person is also seen to be in danger..

The wisdom in using harsh language:

  2. this stimulation is the first step in doing right thing. As long as the symptoms of a disease are hidden, there can be no treatment for this disease, but at the time of the appearance of the symptoms and the appearance of the signs, the treatment can be done.

  3. The harsh words used by the Prophets, meant only to be a stimulation, so that the people of Allah would be excited and wake up with this stimulation from sleeplessness and start striving and thinking to religion

  4. make a movement even if it is an antagonistic movement and create a relationship of their hearts with the hearts of the people of truth even if it is a hostile relationship, this is what Allah the Exalted has mentioned: Al-Baqarah 2:11

  5. the 1st way of Hindus was disappointing to us when in their hearts they considered this way more likeable that there should be no religious discussion with Muslims and should show agreement in discussion, but now they have come to the contest and stand in the field, they have fallen under our sharp weapons and become like the hunting- who can be hunted with a single blow.

  6. I truly tell you that those who you see today full of hostile zeal, after a short time you will not see them. In the present time, the Aryans who have taken a step towards debates with the movement of our people, no matter how harshly they behave in taking this step and they are publishing books full of abuses and dirty words, but with their enthusiasm, they are actually opening the way for Islam to their nation and our movements do not really have any bad results.

The Holy Quran curses: 2: 162- 163 on them shall be the curse of Allah and of angels and of men all together. They shall remain under it.

The cursing of the angels and the holy men means that as angels and holy men obey their Lord and Master and never go against His wishes, they would naturally sever connections with the disbelievers—the Jews—when they see Him doing the same. The angels, one of whose works is to help good men and punish the wicked, will turn against them and all good men will also strive to bring their evil efforts to naught. They will find the entire forces of God ranged against them. If the word الناس) men) be taken to refer to all men, then the clause would mean that all men being subordinate to God, He would so arrange that no people would be able to help them against His decree. God is slow to punish but when the cup of the iniquities of a disbelieving people becomes full to the brim and all warning is lost upon them, then severe punishment overtakes them, and no further respite is granted; and as the punishment is primarily meant as a cure, it is of sufficiently long duration and persists till all vestige of spiritual disease is rooted out.]

67
New cards

The Holy Quran curses: 2:160 it is these whom Allah curses; and so curse them those who have the right to curse.

The present verse has been taken to apply either to Muslims or Jews. In the former case the verse would be taken as a warning to Muslims that they should ever be careful to preach the truth of Islam and should in no circumstances hide or neglect it but should ever be ready to proclaim it, however bitter the opposition. Failing this, they will not only not attain the nearness of God but will be cast away from Him. If applied to Jews, and that indeed is the right application, the connection with the preceding verse may be easily seen in the reference to As-Safa and Al-Marwah in that verse. It was at these places that Abraham left his wife Hagar, and his son, Ishmael, under God's command and it was here that, while building the Ka'bah, Abraham and Ishmael prayed to God for the appearance of a great Prophet among their progeny. The Quran thus refers here to the Jews who were concealing the prophecies contained in their Scriptures about the Holy Prophet. The Jews are warned that if they concealed the clear prophecies given to them about the Arabian Prophet, in spite of the fact that they have now been reminded of them through the Quran, God would cast them away, depriving them of His mercy and condemning them to punishment in Hell. They are further warned that as God is the Lord of the entire universe, His curse will not come alone but everything which is subservient to Him will then begin to curse them—angels, men, the elements, laws of nature and all.

As, disbelievers, out of pride and a false sense of power reject the Divine Message, God will disgrace and humiliate them. "Branding on the snout" is a metaphor for disgracing a person.

The claim of the promised messiah is because of a mental illness?

The second point of criticism is that out of melancholy or obsession the Messiah has claimed to be the Promised One.

The Promised Messiah as is named as Majnoon but this is according to the traditions of the prophets. There is a prophecy in Barahine Ahmadiyya that people will call you Majnoon. The readers after reading the books will decide who is Majnoon.

70
New cards

Why is The Promised Messiah as called majnoon?

  1. My statement concerning the Promised Messiah, whose descent from heaven and second advent into the world is awaited, which God Almighty has disclosed to me by His grace and mercy, is that there is no mention in the Holy Qur'an of the second advent of Jesus.

  2. According to the Holy Qur'an, Jesus has departed from this world forever. Some Ahadith, which are replete with metaphors, predict the second advent of Jesus. Their context indicates that they do not predict the second coming of Jesus, son of Mary, but comprise metaphorical statements which mean that in an age that would resemble the age of Jesus, son of Mary, a person will resemble Jesus, son of Mary, in his nature, power and function.

  3. As Jesus, son of Mary, had revived the religion of Mosesas and had set forth afresh the true teaching of the Torah, which the Jews had forgotten, in the same way this second Messiah would revive the faith of the Prophet who was like Mosesas and was the Seal of the Prophets (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.) This Messiah of the Prophet who was the like of Mosesas will completely resemble the Messiah of Mosesas in the events of his life and in all other consequences that his people will experience on account of their obedience to him or their denial of him.

  4. God Almighty has revealed to me that I am that Promised Messiah.

The popular beliefs about the second coming of Jesus:

According to their old ideas which have taken firm root in their hearts, the Muslims' claim that:

  1. Jesus, son of Mary, will descend from heaven near the eastern minaret of Damascus

  2. with his hands resting on the shoulders of two angels.

  3. Some of them say that he will descend on the minaret with the help of a ladder which the Muslims will provide for him, and the angels will then depart.

  4. He will be well dressed—he will not be naked—and will meet the Mahdi in that condition.

  5. His age will be the same as when he ascended to heaven, that is thirty-two or thirtythree years.

  6. Passage of years and months will not have affected his age or physique; nor will his hair and nails have grown; they will only become subject to change after his descent.

  7. He will not engage in fighting, but the disbelievers will die by the power of his breath alone, which, instead of reviving the dead as it formerly did, will now cause the living to die.

  8. Here the clerics contradict themselves and assert that he will wage wars, and the one-eyed Antichrist will die at his hands.

  9. The Jews will also be killed by his command.

72
New cards

Contradictions in the Popular Beliefs

They assert that he will be the same Jesus, son of Mary, who was a Prophet of God and who was bestowed the Gospel through Gabriel, and yet they allege that on his descent upon earth he will have lost his status of Prophethood and will only be a follower of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and will be bound by the law of the Holy Qur'an, like the Muslims, and will join them in their prayers. Some say that he will be a follower of the great Imam Abu Hanifa, but it is not specified which of the four Sufi orders, Qadri, Chishti, Suharwardi or Naqshbandi he will identify himself with. In short, they begin with describing him as a Prophet and then reduce him to a degree that no sensible person can ever contemplate.

73
New cards

Then, converting his functions from their metaphorical description into physical activities, they allege that

  1. he will break crosses and slaughter swine. They do not explain what he will gain by breaking crosses. Even if he broke one or two million crosses, would the Christians, who are devoted to the worship of the cross, not make new ones in place of the broken ones?

  2. If the slaughtering of swine is also to be taken literally, will the principal occupation of the Messiah be that of hunting swine with a pack of dogs? If that is so, it will be a great day for Sikhs and some nomadic tribes like the Chamars, Sansis, Gondelas, etc., who are fond of hunting swine. But this activity of his will not in any way benefit the Christians, who are already very skilful in hunting swine. There are up to a thousand shops in London that sell the flesh of swine, and up to twenty-five thousand pigs are daily sent to the outlying areas of the city.

  3. The question is: is it worthy of a Prophet who has appeared for the reform of mankind to waste his time hunting pig, a disgusting animal, while even touching the pig is a grave sin according to Torah. A question also arises that—while hunting is a hobby of the idle—if the Messiah is still to be so fond of hunting, is there any dearth of such good animals as deer, caribou, rabbits, etc., that he should soil his hands with the blood of such a foul animal? I have presented here a picture of the character and activities of the Messiah in his second advent, as conceived by the bulk of the Muslims. It is for sensible people to consider how unnatural, contradictory and inconsistent with the high status of Prophethood all this is.

Two sayings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which distinguish the Second Messiah from the first.

It should be remembered that none of this nonsense is mentioned in either of the two great compilations of Ahadith. Imam Bukhari has given no indication that the Messiah who is to come will be the same person as Jesus, son of Mary. On the contrary, he has narrated two actual sayings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which distinguish the Second Messiah from the first.

  1. The connotation of one of these Ahadith is that the son of Mary will appear from among you, and it further clarifies that he will be your Imam from within you. One should carefully consider how the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), in order to remove any misunderstanding which may result from the name 'son of Mary', goes on to say: Do not take him to be the son of Mary himself, rather: 'He will be your Imam from among your own people.'

  2. The other Hadith, which gives the same indication, is that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) described the features of the first and the second Messiah differently. His description of the features of the second Messiah fits me exactly. Is the clear distinction between the features of the two not enough to prove that the first and the second Messiah are in fact two distinct personalities? Jesus(as) and The Promised Messiah as- Two individuals with different description

He said that Bukhari Ahadith state that the Promised Messiah to come will be different in appearance from the earlier Messiah (Jesus, on whom be peace). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) saw the Messiah to come circuiting the Ka'ba in a vision and related that he will have light brown complexion and straight hair, whereas the Israelite Messiah (on whom be peace) had a ruddy complexion and curly hair. Bukhari has given the appearance of the Muhammadan Messiah as of light brown complexion with straight hair and the Israelite Messiah as of ruddy complexion with curly hair which proves that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) declared the Messiah to come as a separate person and also attributed him to be from among the people amid whom his advent would take place. It is also worth reflecting that not only has the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) mentioned the two different appearances of the two Messiahs, but when mentioning the Messiah to come, he has at several places also mentioned Dajjal. However, he has not mentioned Dajjal when citing the Israelite Messiah. This also proves that he considered there to be two 'Isa bin Maryam' (Jesus, son of Mary). Another important point is that Jesus (on whom be peace) was Syrian and Syrians do not have brown complexion, however Indians have brown complexion. Christian history also tells us that Jesus (on whom be peace) was not of brown complexion, rather he had a ruddy complexion like Syrian people. However, the words of Ahadith prove that the appearance of the Messiah to come was most certainly not like the Syrians.

Holy Qur'an does not mention the bodily ascent of Jesus to heaven. Explain.

Nowhere does the Holy Qur'an mention the bodily ascent of Jesus to heaven. His death, on the other hand, is specifically mentioned at several different places. One of these contains Jesus' own confession of his death: 5:118 —AlMa'idah, 'And I was a witness over them as long as I remained among them, but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them; and Thou art Witness over all things.'

As his death is established, it follows that his body must have been buried in the earth like the bodies of all dead people. The Holy Qur'an expressly states that it was his soul that ascended to heaven and not his body. That is why, in the verse just cited, he clearly acknowledged his death. Had he ascended to heaven alive in his physical body, he would not have said that he had departed the earth after his death. And, obviously, if it was only his soul which had ascended to heaven, then how can he possibly descend in his physical body?... If we were to assume that he had ascended to heaven in his physical body, we would have to acknowledge that, like all human and animal bodies, his body must also be affected by the passage of time and that one day he must die. Thus he may have died in heaven having lived out his normal span of life and may have been interned in a graveyard on some planet which is now supposed to be capable of supporting human life. On the other hand, if we are to assume the impossible— that he is still physically alive, then, after the passage of so many centuries, he must have arrived at extreme old age and will no longer be capable of performing any religious function or service. His descent upon earth in such a condition would serve no useful purpose and would only put him to unnecessary travail. [Izala-e-Auham, Ruhani Khaza'in, vol. 3, pp. 125-127]

Miraj journey ?

Ma'raaj - a Spiritual journey, not a physical In order to prove the physical ascension of Jesus Christ(as) to the heavens, non-Ahmadi Muslim scholars argue that the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa) also ascended bodily to the heavens during Merāj. Therefore, they say that it is not impossible for a human being to physically go to the heavens. Contrary to this claim, the Holy Qurān and Hadīth prove that the ascension of the Holy Prophet(sa) was spiritual and not physical. Many ahadīth also prove that al-Isra and Merāj are two separate incidents. The incident of Merāj happened in 5th year of his prophethood at the time when the Holy Prophet(sa) was sleeping in Ka`aba. Whereas, the Isra incident happened in 11th year of Prophethood while the Holy Prophet(sa) was sleeping in his cousin Ummi Hānī's(ra) home. The fact that he was sleeping in both cases clearly demonstrates that these incidents were spiritual and not physical.

The journey of the Me'raj was not with the physical body, but was a vision of the highest type, which in effect was experienced in complete wakefulness. In such a vision, a person according to the capacity of his soul, can journey through the heavens with a body of light. As the soul of the Holy Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be on him] possessed the highest capacity, therefore, in his journey of Me'raj, he arrived at the highest point of the universe, which is described as the Great Throne. This journey was the vision in a sort of wakefulness. I do not call it a dream, nor was it a vision of low status. This was a vision at the highest stage, which is clearer and brighter than wakefulness. I myself have experience of this type of vision.

Messiah was never raised physically: Quran 5; 118 And I was a witness over them as long as I remained among them,[814] but since [a]Thou didst cause me to die,[815] Thou hast been the Watcher over them, and Thou art Witness over all things;

[As long as Jesus was alive, he kept a careful watch over his followers and saw to it that they did not deviate from the right path, but he did not know how they behaved and what false doctrines they held after his death. Now, as his followers have gone astray, it conclusively follows that Jesus is dead, for, as the verse points out, it was after his death that he was to be worshipped as God. Similarly, the fact that this verse speaks of Jesus as expressing ignorance that his followers took him and his mother for two gods after he had left them, proves that he is not to come back to this world. For, if he were to come back and see with his own eyes that his followers had become corrupt and had deified him he could not plead ignorance of his deification by them. If he would do so, his answer pleading his ignorance would amount to a veritable lie. The verse thus positively proves that Jesus is dead and that he will never come back to this world. Moreover, according to a well-known saying of his, the Holy Prophet will use the same words on the Day of Resurrection as are put here in the mouth of Jesus, when he will see some of his followers being led to Hell. This lends further support to the fact that Jesus is dead like the Holy Prophet.] Mutawaffi is derived from Tawaffa. When God is the subject and a human being the object, Tawaffa has no other meaning than that of taking away the soul, whether in sleep or death.

The word has been used in no less than 25 different places in the Qur'an and in no less than 23 of them the meaning is to take away the soul at the time of death. Only in two places the meaning is to take away the soul at the time of sleep; but here the qualifying word "sleep" or "night" has been added (6:61; 39:43). The fact cannot be denied that Jesus is dead. The Holy Prophet is reported to have said, "Had Moses and Jesus now been alive, they would have found themselves forced to follow me" (Kathir). He even fixed the age of Jesus at 120 years ('Ummal). The Qur'an, in as many as 30 verses, has completely demolished the absurd belief of the physical ascension of Jesus to, and his supposed life in, heaven.

What are some of the signs in Izala-e-Auham?

The Promised Messiah as assures the Muslims that the time for the help of Islam and victory had come and all what he is doing is not of human planning; it is from God. He it is Who established this dispensation and He is the One Who is at his back. Then he goes on to explain the miracles that are said to have been shown by Jesus Christ(as) . Next, he takes up the metaphorical signs of the second advent of Jesus Christ(as) and along with them he comments on a chapter of the Holy Qur'an entitled Zilzal. Among the signs, he mentioned: • the darkening of the sun and the moon, • the falling of the stars and • the shaking of the heavenly powers. He actually quotes the Gospel according to Matthew (Chap. 24) for this purpose.

The metaphorical signs of the second advent of Jesus Christ(as)

In the preceding Surah- Al-Bayyinah, mention was made of the great moral revolution that was brought about by the Holy Prophet, in the Surah- Az- Zilzal, under comment we are told that a similar change will take place at a later date, in the time of the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, when all human institutions will be shaken to their foundations, and new discoveries and inventions in the domain of science and knowledge will change the entire shape of things, and the ideals and ideas of men will be given a new orientation.

Hazrat Ahmad(as), having quoted the Gospel, shows the glaring contradictions in them and then points to the fact that these things could taken only metaphorically.

Darkening of the Sun= shariah, pious people (auliyaa) won't give light. [Alislam ; It may mean: When there will be spiritual darkness all over the world—the light of the Spiritual Sun (The Holy Prophet) having become dim or disappeared altogether. Or, it may refer to the eclipses of the sun and the moon, which according to a well-known saying of the Holy Prophet, were to take place in the time of the Mahdi, in the month of Ramadan, a phenomenon which the world had never witnessed before (Qutni, p. 188). These eclipses of the sun and the moon took place in 1894 exactly as foretold.] • Falling of the stars= true scholars will die. [Alislam ; An-Nujum (stars) signifies religious Ulema. This meaning is supported by a well-known saying of the Holy Prophet: 'My Companions are like stars, whomsoever you will follow, you will receive right guidance' (Baihaqi). So the verse may mean: When religious leaders will become corrupt and will cease to exercise any influence. The reference may also be to the falling of the stars in exceptionally large numbers in the time of a Divine Reformer.] • Shaking of the heavenly powers= nobody will receive revelations from the heavens [Alislam ; the whole earth will experience all manner of internal as well as external commotion and upheavals. In our time not only has the earth been constantly shaken by most destructive earthquakes, wars and other calamities and catastrophes at frequent intervals, but also its dwellers have been subjected to violent and virulent agitation in every walk of life. Man has experienced catastrophic changes never witnessed by him before.] • There would be no wars like Noah's age= British Govt

Why should we not believe in the literal wording of Hadith? Eg. Believing in the advent of Messiah:

The physical descendance on the minaret in Damishq • His hands would be on the shoulders of the 2 angels Remember that: • Descending from the sky is not physical, "the sky" word is not used Nuzool is used.

Correct Meanings of Nuzul It is asked: how can we reject the clear and obvious statements of the Ahadith which expressly state that Jesus, son of Mary, would descend from heaven near the eastern minaret of Damascus with his hands on the shoulder of two angels?

The answer is that descent in this context does not mean descent from heaven in a physical body. The Ahadith do not even employ the word 'heaven'. The Arabic word Nuzul [descent] is commonly used to connote arrival. A person who arrives at one place from another is described as having descended at that place. For instance, it is said that an army or a camp has descended at such and such a place. This does not mean that the army or the camp have descended from heaven. The Holy Qur'an has also employed the expression Nuzul [descent] for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It is also stated in a verse that iron has descended from heaven. It is thus obvious that this descent does not connote what people have imagined.

Why revelations are not clear? 2

In the prophecies some messages are clear whereas some are hidden. The reason is as it is stated in 2: 27 Many does He adjudge by it to be in error and many by it does He guide [Metaphors and similes express depths of meaning which cannot adequately be expressed otherwise, and in things of the spirit they provide perhaps the only method by which ideas can be properly conveyed... Nevertheless they help to conjure up the picture. The believers know the words are only metaphorical and try to get to the depth of their meaning; but the disbelievers begin to find fault with them and increase in error and misguidance. Those who stick with the physical meanings, can't understand the reality. • Jesus would be a king but actually he was a poor person.. • The Holy prophet would be from the brothers of Isralites; Allah didn't gave the message clearly because He wanted to differentiate between the believers and the non- believers..

What is the 46th part of prophethood?

With reference to the Hadith that there is nothing left of Prophethood except Al- Mubashirat (i.e. true good dreams) and in another Hadith Holy Prophet(sa) said a good dream is 46th part of prophethood. Abu Hurraira(ra) related that, he heard the Holy Prophet says, nothing is left of prophethood but glad tidings. When he was asked, what are glad tidings he replied true dreams (this hadith is from Bukhari). Second hadith Abu Hurraira(ra) related that, the Holy Prophet said when the time grows near the dream of a believer will not be falsified and the dream of a believer is one of the 46th elements of the prophet hood

The reality that the Messiah would descend near the white eastern minaret of Damascus

The Hadith of Sahih Muslim which says that the Messiah would descend near the white eastern minaret of Damascus has throughout puzzled the scholars, for it is not clear what relationship Messiah has with Damascus.... [Beloved Maulvi Hakeem Nooruddin Sahib came to Qadian at this place and he requested that attention should be paid to Allah for the disclosure of the word Damascus and other such general words in the hadith of Muslim. But as in those days my health was ill and my mind was intractable, I was compelled to attend to all these purposes, but by a little attention the interpretation of one word, the truth of the word Damascus, was opened to me, and It was revealed to me in a clear discovery that a person named Harith or Harrath is coming, who is written in the book of Abu Dawud, this news is true and this prediction and the prediction of the coming of Christ are actually the same in terms of their examples. That is, the example of both of them is the same person who is this humble.] [A little attention resolved this difficulty in my mind and it was disclosed to me, in a clear vision, that the intimation in the compilation of Abu Dawud that a person designated Harith or Harrath [a cultivator] will appear is correct and is identical with the prophecy of the second advent of the Messiah and that both have reference to me.]

Why in Damascus?

It has been disclosed to me that the word Damascus in the prophecy means a town which is home to a people who resemble Yazid and think and act like him. Their hearts feel no love for Allah or His Messenger and they do not esteem Divine commandments. They worship their selfish desires and are so committed to the dictates of their evil egos, that they esteem the blood of the pure and the holy lightly. They do not believe in the hereafter; and the existence of God Almighty is for them a mystery which they cannot understand. Just as a physician is needed for the sick, it was necessary that the Messiah should appear among such people. It has been disclosed to me that the word Damascus here indicates a place which possesses this important characteristic peculiar to Damascus. The use of this word in connection with the place of the appearance of the Messiah is an indication that the Messiah does not mean Jesus who was given the Gospel but he is someone from among the Muslims who, in his spiritual condition, resembles both the Messiah and Imam Hussain....

How does the word Damascus indicate that jesus is not the messiah who was to come?

The word Damascus clearly indicates that Jesus is not the Messiah who was to come, but as the Yazidis resemble the Jews in the same way the Messiah who is to come resembles Jesus and possesses the temperament of Hussain. This is a very subtle point: the word Damascus has been used metaphorically. As the tragedy of Imam Hussain was an enormity in the estimation of God Almighty and resembled closely the tragedy of Jesus, as even the Christians would acknowledge, therefore, God Almighty desired that the coming generations may be apprised of its enormity and its resemblance to the tragedy of Jesus. Damascus has been metaphorically mentioned in this context so that the readers might be reminded of the time when the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was, like Jesus, put to the sword most tyrannically by the wretches of Damascus. Thus God Almighty particularly mentioned Damascus, wherefrom such tyrannical directions had issued and which was the home of such hard-hearted and darkminded people, as an indication that the place which resembled Damascus would now become the headquarter for the propagation of faith and justice.

Resemblance of The Promised Messiah as with Hazrat Imam Hussain...

This metaphor was used by God Almighty so that the readers would get two benefits from it, 1. one is the painful martyrdom of Imam Hussainra , which was reported in the Hadith of the Prophet as a prophetic indication in the word of Damascus, may its greatness and importance be revealed to the hearts. 2. The second is to find out for sure that the people living in Damascus were not actually Jews but they did what the Jews have done. In the same way the Messiah who is about to descend is not really the Messiah, but similar to the spiritual state of the Messiah.

Qadian is mentioned as Damishq...

  1. This town of Qadian has a similarity and resemblance to Damascus.. 2. God made this town of Qadian similar to Damascus, and in this regard, I also had a revelation Meaning that Yazidi people were born in it. 3. God Almighty knows best and He is the witness of this fact that He compared Qadian to Damascus and said this about these people that these are Yazidis by nature, that is, most of the people who live in this place are similar in their nature to the nature of the Yazidi people, and it has also been revealed for a long time that meaning we made him to sent down near Qadian and he was sent down with the truth and he descended with the truth and one day the promise of Allah was to be fulfilled. By pondering over this revelation, it shows that the appearance of this humble one by God Almighty in Qadian was written in advance as a prophecy in the divine writings. 4. it is clear that the name of Qadian must have been used as a metaphor for Damascus in the old inscriptions, because the name of Qadian is not found in a book of Hadith or the Holy Qur'an, and this revelation, which has been published in Barahin-e Ahmadiyya, is clearly and loudly showing that the name of Qadian is definitely present in the Holy Quran or in ahadith of the Prophet, and since it is not there, what else can we think that God Almighty must have written the name of Qadian in some other way in the Holy Qur'an or the Prophetic Hadiths

I would now like to draw attention to the Hadith narrated by Abu Dawud in his compilation. what is the hadith?

  1. It contains a prophecy that a person designated as Harith, or a cultivator, will appear from Transoxiana, that is to say, from the direction of Samarkand, who will lend support to the descendants of the Holy Prophetsa and it would be obligatory on every believer to help and support him. 2. It has been revealed to me that this prophecy [about Harith]and the prophecy of the advent of the Promised Messiah, who will be one of the Muslims and will be their Imam, relate to the same event and both have reference to me.

97

The prophecy that relates to the Promised Messiah has two special aspects.

One is that through his true teaching • he will reform the spiritual condition of the Muslims which will be utterly corrupt at the time of his advent and; • he will totally remove their spiritual poverty and inner indigence and present them the jewels of knowledge, verities and comprehension in excess of their need. No seeker after truth from among them will remain spiritually poor and indigent. • All those who hunger and thirst for truth will be provided in abundance with the wholesome food of truth and the sweet drink of comprehension. • Their pockets will be filled with the pearls of true knowledge and they will be given phialae filled with the perfume of the true meaning of the Holy Qur'an. The second special aspect of the prophecy, which relates to the advent of the Promised Messiah, is that • he will break the cross, • slaughter the swine and • kill the one-eyed Antichrist. • Every disbeliever who is touched by his breath will die instantly.

98
New cards

The spiritual interpretation of this special aspect is that

  1. the Promised Messiah will crush under his feet all the glory of the religion of the cross, 2. that he will destroy with the weapon of conclusive arguments those who are afflicted with shamelessness like swine, and who devour filth like pigs, and 3. that he will wipe out with the sword of clear proofs the opposition of those who possess only the eye of the world and are bereft of the eye of the faith in place of which they have only an unsightly taint. 4. Not only such one-eyed ones, but also every disbeliever who views Islam with contempt will suffer spiritual extinction through the glorious breath of Messianic reasoning. In short all these signs are metaphoric, the significance of which has been fully revealed to me. Some may not appreciate it at this time but after waiting for sometime, and despairing altogether of the hopes that they now entertain, all of them will accept it.
