What is the Pharynx?
A muscular tube that connects the oral and nasal cavity to the larynx and oesophagus
The pharynx is comprised of 3 parts, what are they?
Nasopharynx, Oropharynx and Laryngopharynx

Filtering inspired air and sending it to the larynx
What is the function of the Oropharynx?
Passageway for both food/liquids and air to the larynx and oesophagus

Directs air into the trachea and food/liquids into the oesophagus

Constrictors and Longitudinal

Superior, Middle and Inferior

Paltopharyngeus, Stylopharyngeus, Salpingopharyngeus

Vagus nerve
