When the rubber sheet is pulled downwards, the balloons inflate. This happens because pulling the sheet increases the volume inside the jar, which causes the air pressure inside to decrease. Air from outside rushes in to equalize the pressure, inflating the balloons.
Blood entering the lungs is deoxygenated because it comes from the body's tissues, where the oxygen has already been used up. Inside the lungs, new oxygen from the air diffuses into the blood. Therefore, the blood leaving the lungs is now rich in oxygen, making it oxygenated.
